Mountains, valleys and history around

Domodossola has a great strategic location for exploring the surrounding mountains and valleys. The La Palma apartment is situated on the edge of town, just a few dozen meters from the cycling path along the river. The apartment is very well equipped and spotlessly clean — everything looks new. The owner welcomed us personally, showed us around, and gave us helpful tips. We really enjoyed our stay here.

A major road runs along the river and the cycling path, so traffic noise can be heard in the morning. But if you choose to stay in a town, a bit of traffic is to be expected.

Very clean, comfortable place with a well stocked kitchen and amazing views of the mountains. Kind and helpful host.

A word of caution : the path to the lodging is not very pedestrian friendly and people drive fast.

Property was lovely, host was great at communicating.

The surrounding area wasn’t as good as was expecting. It did have a view of the mountains but did back onto a motorway. The walk into the main town wasn’t great.

Lovely house

Lovely house with small garden and parking places. The view from the balcony was beautiful. Very quiet and pleasant. The apartment has everything you need for a short stay, we were in transit turning from the vacation. Recommend!

A nice apartment with fantastic hosts

A yery clean and well equipped apartment with dishwasher, microwave and washing machine. Very friendly and welcoming hosts who live on site. Balcony with mountain views. Located in a quiet area of Domosossola

Not recommended if you don't speak Italian or have your own car

The view from our terrazo was exquisite and the kitchen was very functional. Our host helped us overcome some challenges caused by our own lack of language facility and lack of preparedness, throughout the trip

No one spoke English including our host. When we got there it was pouring rain and we didn't have umbrellas. The polizia called a taxi for us but it never came. A friend of the polizia showed up and agreed to drive us to La Palma. The kitchen in our suite was not stocked with anything at all: not even paper towels, napkins, salt or pepper. It was extremely dangerous and too far to walk back to town to get food though the host made it sound like it was easy so we were walking in the rain for hours fearing we would get hit by a car any second. We finally went back and begged the host to order a pizza to be delivered to us. At first he kept telling us to do it ourselves but we didn't have the language skills. He finally did it for us. The bed was very uncomfortable. The next morning we got our host to call us a taxi. The person who picked us up was not a taxi. We suspect he was the son of a friend of the host. He was very kind but, like the other drivers in Domodossola, drove extremely fast through the narrow streets. Once he picked us up and took us to a supermarket (where we were able to stock the kitchen ourselves) we kept arranging pick ups with him for the rest of the trip so we were able to start having a better time.

Erinomainen, viehättävä ja rauhallinen majapaikka

Aivan loistava paikka yhden yön yöpymisellemme Domodossolassa kolmen hengen seurueella. Autolle hyvin tilaa pihassa, ystävälllinen ja herttainen omistajapariskunta. Todella siisti, viehättävä, hyvin varustettu ja kauniisti sisustettu huoneisto omakotitalon yläkerrassa, mukavat vuoteet. Keittiössä astioille kuivauskaappi. :-) Rauhallinen ympäristö, ja kuitenkin kävelymatka Domodossolan keskustaan, missä oli kiva kierrellä lämpimänä iltana. Tänne tulisin mielelläni uudelleenkin, pidemmäksikin aikaa. Ehkäpä paras yöpymispaikka koko kolmen viikon Euroopan reissullamme. Erinomainen hinta-laatusuhde.

Non mi è piaciuta la porta di ingresso all'appartamento in vetro.. Nonostante era un vetro satinato comunque si vedevano chiaramente le ombre di chi era dentro

Tolle Unterkunft

Tolle blitzsaubere Wohnung in einer ruhigen Lage und von dem kleinen Sitzbereich vor unserer Haustür hatten wir einen tollen Ausblick auf das Tal/Berge. Die Gastgeber waren sehr nett und der check in/out war vollkommen unkompliziert. Die mit allen Annehmlichkeiten ausgestattete, sehr saubere Wohnung befindet sich oben unter dem Dach, es gibt eine sehr bequeme Treppe dahin. Die Betten sind sehr bequem. Wir waren eine Nacht dort und konnten uns gut erholen für die Weiterfahrt. Wir bedanken uns für diese tolle Unterkunft.

Leider gbt es kein Mückennetz an den Fenstern.

Sehr gute und funktionale Ausstattung. Großer Balkon mit Blick auf die Berge (leider wegen schlechtem Wetter, viel Regen, nicht nutzbar gewesen). Fußläufige Nähe zu einem großen Supermarkt. Auch der Bahnhof und die Centovallibahn sind in 10 Minuten zu Fuß erreichbar, allerdings über eine verkehrsreiche Strecke. Man braucht kein Auto, um in die Stadt zu kommen. Die zwei übereinander liegenden Appartements im La Palma sind ideal für eine große oder zwei kleine Familien. Das Hausbesitzer-Paar wohnt im EG. Das ist sehr hilfreich, zumal beide sehr freundliche, kinderliebe, hilfsbereite und großzügige Gastgeber sind.

Sehr gute Anbindung an die Autobahn, toller Blick aus den Fenstern, ruhig, wunderschöne Terrasse

Marcella hat uns unglaublich nett empfangen! Sie ist eine tolle Gastgeberin. Die Unterkunft ist sehr sauber, groß und das Gefühl eines Zuhause inmitten der italienischen Alpen ist gegeben. Wir würden sicherlich noch einmal kommen.
