I have no complaints and would gladly book a room again - next time for a much longer stay.

Beautiful farm with so much to do & explore. It is honestly the closest thing ive seen to a mini Kirstenbosch Gardens on someone's private farm. There are easily close to a 1000 species of trees, plants, flowers etc on the farm. The gardens honestly felt like stepping into another world - trees, flowers, bushes and birds everywhere with winding little paths all over the property taking you to a new secret spot (a bench among the lavender bushes with a view of the mountain; an open field with some beehives; a massive olive grove; a variety of fruit trees and we picked the fruit to eat while we walked)... the last of different biomes, scenery, surprises goes on.
There are several animals on the property - a friendly horse and donkey, over 25 tortoises (such special little guys with their own personality - the big one just wants his head scratched the whole time!), there are chickens, geese, cats, and dogs.
The owners, Bob and Wendy, are such lovely people. Bob was so patient in answering my hundreds of questions about the property and the farm. He is a salt of the earth man, kind and honest, with a witty sense of humor!
I would highly recommend this spot for anyone that loves a farm stay, nature, plants and animals, or just to have a peaceful getaway... Especially recommend for families and couples!
11 out of 10 all round! :)
Nothing, it was perfect.

We recently spent a night at Summerhill Guest Farm, and what a beautiful little escape it was!
The farm itself is absolutely charming, with rolling olive groves and fruit trees that you can wander through on a relaxed, peaceful stroll. Along the way we met the resident pony (who I named Prince) and the sweetest little zonkey (I called her Nanny). Prince was far more interested in grazing than cuddles, while Nanny was a bit shy — but both added such character to the farm experience.
There’s a gorgeous shaded walk through a homegrown forest on the property, with little picnic spots tucked beneath massive trees. One of the paths winds through a fragrant lavender garden and ends at a hen house filled with clucking ladies and their goose friend, who is currently recovering from an injured wing. It’s all so wholesome and full of farm charm.
For families, there’s a lovely play park for children, and the farm dogs are incredibly friendly. We had so much fun throwing sticks and balls for Colby, and Daisy was especially cuddly and sweet — we loved her company! There’s also a beautiful rose garden (even though it’s not peak blooming season, we were lucky enough to spot a coral rose budding).
One of the absolute highlights is the tortoise sanctuary. You can sit in the enclosure with these magnificent creatures and feed them cabbage. The biggest personality of them all is Faanie — the large gentleman who absolutely thrives on attention!
Our cottage was spacious, neat and very comfortable. The bed had crisp, clean linen, the aircon kept the room cool at night, and the kitchenette had everything we needed for a short stay. It truly felt like a home away from home — and honestly, we wished we were staying longer.
If you’re looking for a peaceful farm getaway surrounded by trees, animals, and tranquility, Summerhill Guest Farm is the perfect place to unwind.
I can't say I didn't like anything. It really was better than we expected. Maybe the music from some locals further down, but it ended at a decent hour and wasn't a huge bother.
