perfect location, few mins walk from the train station and near ferry dock.very cute place near restaurants.

the place had infestations of ants when we arrived. we even found them in our suitcases. once we told the owner, they did clean the place and put some ant bait which helped the situation a bit.

Very comfortable stay close to the ferry and train station. Currently the only way to get to Varenna is by bus and the bus stop is just a block away from the apartment.

The apartment is on the third floor (European second floor), so you have to carry suitcases up 2.5 flights of stairs.

The location was great - close to the train and the ferries. Although in summer season - they are extremely busy and the town is extremely busy.

Arriving at the property wasn't a great experience. The directions for location was't great. I was asked to give an exact time of arrival - which I did. But then had to wait outside the gate for Pietro to arrive - only for a short while. We didn't feel very welcome and the whole arrival experience made us feel a little on edge. Once we were there for a night, we fell more relaxed and Varenna is beautiful and the apartment being close to everything was great. The check out time was 9am - which again wasn't ideal. We are more used to check out being 10am/11am or even 12pm. We could have left our bags with Pietro and his family, but in the end we decided just to leave at 9am.
