About this villa rental
Fantastic Villa, which belonged to the Milanese aristocracy, also hosted Prince Raimondo Lanza of Trabia during his summer holidays. Very suggestive, with gardens on several levels, from where you can admire a unique panorama in front of the Vezio Castle. The rooms equipped with all services and accessories are large and spacious, with spectacular views of Lake Lecco and Como, a private bathroom for exclusive use, Wi fi - Barbecue in the garden. A private room for 4 people with a balcony from which you have a wonderful view of the lake and the castle is available to guests. The room has a private bathroom.

The Villa dominates the center of the town and all services are within walking distance, bars, restaurants, supermarket, pizzeria and various paths for trekking in the adjacent woods. A short distance from the beaches and the small port where you can embark to visit Lake Lecco and Como. Sports center with football and tennis field 350 meters away. The area is purely tourist and the train station is 2.5 km away. from our residence, reachable on foot via the mule tracks, which greatly shorten the route, or by bus service or taxi service, both 150 meters from the Villa. You can also attend falconry shows in the nearby castle of Vezio, which belonged to Queen Teodolinda, or water sports, such as water skiing. sailing, canoeing and fishing.
IMPORTANT: use of the kitchen may be shared
The kitchen must be left tidy, i.e. the dishes must be cleaned and all food scraps must be removed from the refrigerator. The waste must be thrown into the dustbin.

Getting to the property is a bit tough, considering the hike and limited bus accessibility. But once you get there, the view is amazing and the property is well maintained. Giuliano was very friendly.

This on a very steep hill next to a restaurant. The little village is very cute and you feel part of the community. It is fun to walk around the paths between the homes and explore. Everything is on a hill so be prepared to walk an incline coming or going.
As for the home, the grounds are beautiful and the view is absolutely breathtaking. One thing I wish we had been made aware of is how many steps there are to get from the street to the front door. The room is on the top floor which means you climb an additional 4 flights of stairs. It is very hard to get large luggage all the way to the top. So I would have liked to know that in the description before I booked.

The villa and view were beautiful. Our biggest dilemma was finding bus or taxi service from Varenna. Taxis were often fully booked and the buses did not seem to run consistently and stopped early evening. The walk up is very steep and long.
Luigi was great in responding with issues like ants and no toilet paper.
