Very nice apartment

1.Absolutely amazing location..very close to the train station (3-4 minutes walk ) , 4-5 minutes walk to the ferry ( for Bellagio/ Mennagio etc) and 10 minutes walk to the main Piazza ( restaurants and church etc) . 2. The hosts .. amazingly helpful family ..came to pick us up from the train station) so we didn't have to lug heavy suitcases while trying to find the accomodation) and as it was raining heavily when we put holiday finished ,they kindly dropped us back at the train station as a favour ) . 3. Very clean , comfortable beds . Fans in the rooms . 2 bathrooms in this duplex apartment

Everything was very nice formour visit but for someone reading this .. 1. No lifts ..only stairs ( of you have limited mobility) 2. Fans work well but the apartment doesn't have AC ... We didn't have any problem as we visited in September, but it must get very hot in peak summer .

Beautiful Varenna

Ease of being met at the railway station and transportation of bags to the premises. Friendly hosts, all things explained well. Tea, coffee, olive oil, vinegar etc provided. Close to town Centre with beautiful walk to get there. Would recommend highly.

Comfortable, relaxing in a lovely environment.

Valerio, our host, met us at the railway station and guided us to the apartment, which was spotlessly clean and provided everything needed for a comfortable stay. It was spacious and light. Valerio and his father were most helpful and provided lots of information about the sights to see and restaurants: an English speaking friend was with them in case of language dissiculties. We were made to feel very welcome and assured that someone would always be on hand if we encountered problems, which we did not, as everything functioned properly. The appliances were all in very good condition and of good quality and tea, coffee , oil, salt and peper etc. were provided together with washing up liquid, cleaning materials and detergent for the washing machine, an efficient and most welcome appliance. It was clear that Valerio had thought carefully about the needs and comfort of his guests. The situation was ideal for the ferry terminal and to reach the panoramic walkway into the centre of Verenna, with a couple of excellent restaurants and a grocery shop within 5 minutes walking distance. The (free) car parking space is within the curtilage of the property and is underground, so covered and very secure. We felt very safe and cosy during our stay.

There was nothing we disliked and really nothing we can suggest by way of improvement, as everything we needed was provided.

We had a lovely 3 night stay in Varenna. Chosen due to having train station as we travelled from Venice, Verona, Milan a

Close proximity to bus/rail and ferry. Short walk to all so perfect. Spacious accommodation over 2 floors. 2 bathrooms, perfect for travelling with teens. They had the upstairs, I was downstairs. Very clean. Kitchen facilities great. Also a washing machine, handy when travelling light with cabin bag for 1 week.

It’s in a very good location, very close to the city center but quiet. It was clean and well maintained, the owner and his family were very nice, explained everything, gave good tips for our stay, allowed late check in. Would definitely choose this place again.

Perfect stay in Varenna

We loved our apartment & couldn't have been happier with our stay. Valerio met us wgen we arrived & assisted with our luggage. We were also provided with maps & helpful tips for the area. Location was brilliant, very close to ferry terminal & train station. Definitely recommend & hope to be back one day.

Very good experience

The apartment was exceptionally clean and well-furnished. Beds were comfortable and host was very friendly and helpful. Varenna is less crowded than other villages on Lake Como and has great ferry and train access. The apartment is conveniently close to both of those.

It is indeed on the “ground floor” as described but, like all of Varenna, the complex is built on the hillside, so you must climb 27 steps to get to the apartment. The host will help you get your luggage up there.

I would recommend this place, especially for the location

Pros: • Excellent location, very close to the port with ferries to various towns around the lake. Also near the city center and train station. • Spacious apartment with large rooms. Everything was clean and tidy. • Kitchen was well-equipped and clean; coffee and tea were available on-site. • Valerio was extremely friendly and helpful.

Cons: • Very high city tax — €3 per person per night adds up quickly for longer stays or larger groups. • There was a strange smell inside the apartment, hard to tell what it was. • No lake view from the windows

Very spacious, kitchen, washing machine, 2 bathrooms. We liked that it was close to the wharf. Good small food shop across the road.

We had the warmest most genuine greeting and explanation of the unit on arrival. The host left milk and a bottle of Prosecco in the fridge and there were staples to allow you to cook The unit has everything 2 couples require to explore lake Como area

VARENNA VISIT

The space was good for 4 adults. The water pressure was great and the hot water was almost too hot. There was a full kitchen, but we only used the refrigerator.

The couch was too soft, so it was hard to get in and out of it. The beds upstairs are very firm, which was tough on old bones. The location was near the ferries and train station, which placed you far from town center and had some slight train noise at night.

Perfect to explore Como

Super close to train station, literally 2 ms walk. Also 2 ms to the ferry station. Kitchen well equipped, we had a bottle of welcome prosecco too. Heating worked well (last days of Nov.) 100 % cleanliness! Very comfy bed and mattress. Perfect base to explore neighbouring towns, comfortable train transfer from Milan or Bergamo.

Location is excellent...very near dock and restaurants. . Rooms were clean and large. Hosts were wonderful.. Very helpful and informative.

One may think air conditioning is not necessary in summer in Varenna but it is. There is no AC. The "lake view" is not a view. You have to stick your neck out the window, look to the right and you catch a sliver of the lake. But if neither view or AC are important, this place is fantastic. We loved it (slept with fans on full blast.)

Valerio himself met us at the train station and took us to the property and gave all the details, and was very friendly. The property was very spacious and had everything we needed, and is in a great location near the train station, the lake, and a convenience store. The beds were comfortable and things were quiet, with good privacy.

We had good ceiling fans, but air-con would be better in the height of summer. There was no bedside light in the upstairs room.

Modern, clean apartment in a small town with a great location!

In the USA, they would call this a "townhouse". It is a 2 level apartment is a large building with 5-6 other units which are side by side. Exceptionally clean, and well laid out. We had a mix up with the owners (our fault), and they were waiting for us at the train station. We came by car. They were at the apartment to greet us within minutes. It is a very easy and short walk if you come by train. The parking is very secure, free, and in the building. There is a small mini-mart across the street (ATM, sandwiches, coffee,, wine, snacks) If you are coming to Lake Como, Varenna is a great base of operations. The town itself is small, and quiet. A few good restaurants and stores. And many great hikes along the lake. They really do "roll up the sidewalks" at 11 PM. Varenna is a main stop on the central lake ferry line. There are ferries to Bellagio and Menaggio almost every half hour from early until late. The ferry terminal is just around the corner from this apartment. A 5 minute walk! So location for ferry service is perfect. Spend the day swimming in Varenna, go to Bellagio for dinner, drinks and shopping, and take the midnight ferry back. Perfect!

Everything! Valerio is an awesome host. He was VERY helpful. The apartment was a short walk to the beach and is right snug against the town. Just wonderful!

There was nothing we didn't like. Everything was clean and cheerful, and even though there was no AC, the fans worked well. And it was HOT outside!
