We really appreciated being collected from the bus station and given a ride to the property, with the host waiting very patiently as we tried shopping as quickly as possible at the supermarket, where we struggled with the Japanese labels on everything.... We loved that this property is located close to Lake Kawaguchiko and that we had bicycles to use. We loved cycling around the lake - it was one of our best experiences in Japan and we were blessed to see Mt Fuji, as the sky was clear when we were there. Inside the cottage, the futon beds were very comfortable. We also appreciated the verandah area, where trees provide privacy from the cottage next door and where there are lights in the flower beds - which was very pretty at night and gave the place a cozy atmosphere. The hosts also placed lovely flowers at the entrance to the property - nice attention to detail.

There were forks but no knives available to use - only chopsticks. So it was difficult to make sandwiches. The one room is not closed off but is just at the top of the stairs - which I did not realise would be the case from the photos. We managed ok, as we travelled as a family but it may be an issue for non-family members travelling as a group. The cottage was also smaller than I thought it would be, but it was not a problem for us, as it was comfortable enough.

Host was so friendly, helpful and very reactive. They helped us with local transportation from and to the Kawaguchiko station and provide bikes for free. Perfect service!
