Umeya Annex

Our host was incredibly kind, thoughtful, and welcoming. He made everything so easy for us as foreigners by preparing detailed guides around the house, including translations for the remote controls and explanations for all the little details about the property. He also gave us wonderful local food recommendations, which made our stay even more special. One of the highlights was being able to borrow the bikes - we had a lovely ride to Oishi Park and enjoyed the beautiful scenery around the lake. The accommodation itself was very spacious and comfortable, with a private washroom, a great shower, and an extremely comfortable sleep. There were two separate rooms: one for sleeping and another cozy living area with a TV, table, and chairs. Both rooms had balconies and windows with an incredible view of Mount Fuji - waking up to that view was unforgettable. Another amazing bonus is that Kawaguchi Asama Shrine is right in front of the property entrance, making it incredibly easy to visit and add to your itinerary without any extra effort. It really adds to the magical and traditional atmosphere of the area. The host also has a beautiful 200-year-old traditional Japanese house on the property for guests interested in having an even more authentic Japanese experience. Thank you so much for such a lovely and memorable stay. We would absolutely stay here again!

Everything was great. If I had to mention one small thing, it would only be that some restaurants and food places in the area may not open on Sundays or Mondays, and some close quite early or can become too busy to accommodate guests. This has nothing to do with the property itself - just something to keep in mind when planning meals around the area.

Our stay here was incredible. Not only is the area gorgeous but Umeya is right by a shrine. The host was very kind, let us use bikes to travel around town and offered to drive us to the station on our last day. I wish we had known as we per-scheduled a taxi, but would have rather gotten to drive with the host. He gave us great recommendations for local spots and the stay area felt like a second home. His cat his very friendly too! We also got a ride into town from one of his friends after we got lost in the mountains, when we told the man where we were staying he offered to help get us back. Highly recommended stay if you want a cozy home like experience in the mountains with a good location and great host!

Experiencing an authentic Japanese traditional house with Mount Fuji saying good morning to you when you open the window. Our host was also really nice. Overall, we loved our stay.
