The facilities were amazing. The access to the pool, jacuzzi, and the entire grounds/garden which are stunning.
The staff on site were exceptional. James and the other house staff are so lovely, and made our stay incredibly pleasant and warm. We can’t thank them enough!
I have 3 times I was disappointed about:
1. I felt the description on Booking.com misleading. It quotes “Entire holiday home”, and under Property Highlights, it also states “The entire place is yours”.
I thought that I had found a house of exceptional value for money, considering the inclusions of pool, jacuzzi etc.
It was only when my family and I entered the property and noticed the expansive size of the grounds, that I first realised something didn’t seem right.
When we were shown our rooms, and seeing other guests rooms, we were shocked to find it is like a share house…. Of course with separate rooms and own bathrooms. But it certainly is not what we consider as having an entire home to ourselves.
This style of lodging is the first I have encountered, in using Booking.com. An entire holiday home has always meant my family has had the entire property to ourselves, and not shared. Had this been advertised, I would have no problem.
2. Only cash was accepted for payment of our stay. Again, a first for me, in using Booking.com. It has always been charged through my credit card through the app. Getting cash out was not an easy task for us, as we had chosen not to travel with cash for this trip….
3. Trying to extend check out time with the owner seemed completely inflexible. At first I asked for extension from 11am to 12pm checkout, which was declined. Then I asked if I could pay extra to extend checkout to 2 or 3pm, as our flight was departing at 7:30pm. Again it was declined, despite no firm booking behind us. He explained that the room needs to be available in case guests want to book, as the system shows room availability.

The staff were extremely helpful.
Swimming pool, jacuzzi and the well kept gardens.
Clothes washing service was excellent.
Easy access to most parts of Cape Town area.
Bedding sheets not changed regularly.
Power cuts (load shedding). Inconvenient. Suggest generators as a backup.
Bedrooms need comestic update.
