Lovely experience due to the staff. But very misleading description on Booking.com… We would have enjoyed our experience

The facilities were amazing. The access to the pool, jacuzzi, and the entire grounds/garden which are stunning. The staff on site were exceptional. James and the other house staff are so lovely, and made our stay incredibly pleasant and warm. We can’t thank them enough!

I have 3 times I was disappointed about: 1. I felt the description on Booking.com misleading. It quotes “Entire holiday home”, and under Property Highlights, it also states “The entire place is yours”. I thought that I had found a house of exceptional value for money, considering the inclusions of pool, jacuzzi etc. It was only when my family and I entered the property and noticed the expansive size of the grounds, that I first realised something didn’t seem right. When we were shown our rooms, and seeing other guests rooms, we were shocked to find it is like a share house…. Of course with separate rooms and own bathrooms. But it certainly is not what we consider as having an entire home to ourselves. This style of lodging is the first I have encountered, in using Booking.com. An entire holiday home has always meant my family has had the entire property to ourselves, and not shared. Had this been advertised, I would have no problem. 2. Only cash was accepted for payment of our stay. Again, a first for me, in using Booking.com. It has always been charged through my credit card through the app. Getting cash out was not an easy task for us, as we had chosen not to travel with cash for this trip…. 3. Trying to extend check out time with the owner seemed completely inflexible. At first I asked for extension from 11am to 12pm checkout, which was declined. Then I asked if I could pay extra to extend checkout to 2 or 3pm, as our flight was departing at 7:30pm. Again it was declined, despite no firm booking behind us. He explained that the room needs to be available in case guests want to book, as the system shows room availability.

Amazing property. Little gem

The staff were extremely helpful. Swimming pool, jacuzzi and the well kept gardens. Clothes washing service was excellent. Easy access to most parts of Cape Town area.

Bedding sheets not changed regularly. Power cuts (load shedding). Inconvenient. Suggest generators as a backup. Bedrooms need comestic update.

Beautiful, luxurious, most beautiful surroundings.

James met us at the gate and remained a supportive presence throughout our stay. The house was beautiful, spacious, and luxurious with everything from a sauna, jacuzzi, and pool to a fireplace. The rooms were spacious and beautifully decorated, the couches were comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed (except kitchen scissors). It is a gem of a home amidst the most beautiful surroundings and we will most definetely return.

In an attempt to make guests comfortable with all the load shedding, the owner installed an emergency light system to come on when the power goes off. Unfortunately, this made the lights in the bedrooms come on at 2 am and we were not able to switch them off again. Some lights went off after 30 minutes and others after one hour. I am sure the owner will get this sorted quickly.

Wonderful location and lots of potential for a nice stay by a large family or group of friends

The property is gorgeous and would be ideal for multiple families, as there is a large common area with a lounge, dining room, kitchen and pizza oven, pool, and jacuzzi as well as outdoor relaxation and playground (jungle gym and chess board). The unit was nice and had adequate space, with 2 bedrooms, a sitting area with TV and wifi, and a small kitchenette (with a toaster oven with 2 hot plates, a fridge and very basic supplies for meals). There are very pretty views of the mountains and the location was extremely convenient -- right between Hout Bay and Llandudno Beach (our favorite in that area: see the pictures I uploaded here). It is only 20 min from the Botanical Garden and downtown Cape Town... and less than 10 min to the beach. The house manager is on site to receive/welcome you and is always available for any assistance you may need. The owners were highly communicative, even offering additional services if we would like them.

Some aspects of the facilities -- especially the outdoor picnic bench, the rug in the jacuzzi area -- are rundown and are overdue for replacement. The sofa-bed and cot could also be upgraded, for even better comfort. The pathway behind the hotel, which takes kids from the room to the playground is full of debris that is dangerous for children and should be removed. A thorough clean-up and purchase of new carpet & furniture could easily take the place to the next level up.

Great pool, beautiful gardens.

Really brilliant hot tub and the best swimming pool we had experienced in a property, beautiful gardens, extremely helpful, kind and friendly staff - James was absolutely lovely and looked after us so well.

There were a few issues with the room, which the hosts did their best to sort out.

Wonderful long weekend away

James was very hospitable and tended to our every need promptly and with a smile. Facilities were beautiful and clean. Manor is kid friendly and has plenty of space. Also, really good WiFi and a smart TV.

Recommend including mugs in the units as the coffee cups are small. Would be nice to have some basic condiments included like salt, pepper and maybe coffee & sugar sachets.

Anoud Manor, The Place To Be!

We loved everything about our stay at Anoud Manor, the host was the best, James has done everything to ensure we enjoyed our stay. He would phone us just to ask if he should get the fire ready whilst we explore the city. The cleaning and laundry services was a bonus. We loved the jacuzzi, sauna and swimming pool. The outdoor space is beautiful, it even has a playpark. The venue is great for couples or families alike. I'll defnitely return and would highly recommend this property❤

Anoud Manor- The Perfect Home Away From Home

The moment we arrived, james greeted us with a very friendly greeting. We had booked a standard room but was upgraded as soon as we arrived. The new room was spacious and had all the amenities that we required. From the moment we arrived, james walked us through the property explaining rules and how things work in a very friendly was. Always stating if we need help, just to call him. (and he did not disappoint) we had two braais for the weekend, both times james had started the fire making it a simple and easy braai, making my holiday more relaxing. His wife did our laundry which was unexpected, but a very pleasant surprise. The place was well taken care of, james and his wife are the most friendly and accommodating people ever. I would recommend this place to anyone travelling near or far if you are looking for somewhere peaceful, yet entertaining. There arr so much more great things that happened, but i would say, go yourself and experience the beauty of Anoud Manor

Only thing that dampened the weekend was loadshedding. But then again with a jacuzzi, swimming pool and a lovely environment, loadshedding was a blessing in disguise for us as we celebrated our anniversary there for the weekend.
