Château de la Berchère

This place is an absolute find! Coralie and her family are delightful and a wonderful hosts. It is a beautiful old chateau that has been updated with a modern decor successfully tied in with the old elegant features of the historic building. We arrived later than planned after traffic on a long journey. Coralie prepared food for the children and a delicious charcuterie platter for the adults plus a starter and homemade apple tart. The bedroom was lovely, on the simple side but beautiful furnishings, modern bathroom, and everything you could need. Breakfast was perfect. Wide selection of food served. All fresh. Dining room is beautiful with table cloths laid with pretty china. They were so accommodating it was amazing. Such kind people. I will deliberately plan our journey next time to include a stop with Coralie. Fully recommend.

The venue and the personnel were great.

Our room was the same as last year when we stayed here. However, for 2 days there was no hot water in our room. This was terrible. Finally, on the last day, it got fixed. quite disappointing.

The rooms need a bit of an upgrade and better curtains. The receptionist at the time of arrival was clearly overwhelmed when 2 families came in at once.

We arrived late and did not notice that the room was not the one (deluxe double room with shower) that we have paid for on Booking.com. The room 16 at the bottom was much different than the pictures of the double room, there is no double bed at the entry and another small cave room following the corridor has another small double bed but the room is full of spiders. Also opposite the room on the inner side there is a door that opens up to an empty dusty corridor, a bit scary to see at night. The room is changed without telling us. In beginning of the April, the pool is closed.
