Great views of the river and canal. Viewed 2 boats going through the canal locks while we were there. Saw dolphins in the river 3 days and an otter 2 days (we have binoculars so that helped). Everyone walks their dogs or jogs along the canal so there is always activity and things to see. Easy to get into the lockbox at the back door, private parking spot right alongside the door (and you really need a car here or you will miss out on so much). Large spacious cottage with all the amenities you need for cooking. Good wifi so we could watch movies after dark. Plenty of towels, toiletries, essentials and hot water. The heat worked great when we needed it. Slept very well - the train going by the front of the cottage is not loud because it has to slow down for the canal bridge and does not run during the night (I use earplugs regularly but my husband does not and we had no issues at all). Clean and nicely decorated, very comfortable. Plenty of easy walks from the cottage and everyone you meet is very friendly especially if one of you has a dog! Safe and quiet area. We really liked it here and could see staying for a week or longer.

Watching the wildlife. The friendly locals, walking along the canal, usually with their dogs. A great location.
Otter Cottage felt like a place to stay for longer and I couldn't in all honesty criticise it.

We were messaged with excellent direction instructions and how to get access to the keys of the property.
That I had to return the keys…. We wanted to stay!!!!!
