Some things good, some need better handling

Welcome Coffee, Team, crisps & wine Welcome toiletries (although one already partly used) Two bedrooms - a big plus in this price range One of the beds has a really good, firm mattress. Nice leather sofas. Heating on at arrival, a big plus in cold weather. Washing machine & dishwasher. A 5-10 min. walk to town centre. Books & films at disposal. Flowers in backyard.

Hassle before check-in, as we suddenly got a message from Booking that we could only check in after 5. That was contradictory to the information received in the mail after booking and very confusing. Also, no helpful reply from the handler cottages.com, when we tried to find out what was going on, altogether very stressful. The house was mostly clean, BUT: Pans a health hazard - extremely scratched, that's a no go with Teflon coated pans,. We had to buy a new one and leave there ... Really dirty water in the pot lid handles. Constant whining sound - from fridge? Damp towels in washing mashine upon arrival. Fitted sheet turned inside-out on the bed. Yellow stains on all four white towels - came out when we washed them. Dishwasher upper tray broken, keeps falling off Doorknob of the larger bedroom loose / falling off. Taking all this together, the property seems a bit carelessly cleaned / handled.

Gorgeous cottage. Short walk to Town. Nice restaurants and great pubs.

Walking up the slope on the way home in the evening was a bit of a struggle as 2 of us has Arthritis and 1 of us has Angina but taxis are available so that problem was solved.

We loved everything. Beautiful house, so comfy and warm. Lovely beds, decent mattresses. Welcome pack, very nice Wine and snacks. Maybe should supply a small carton of milk but nothing to criticize.

Superb Cottage

Could not fault the place. Little touches like welcome pack were lovely. Took my elderly parents here and they loved it. Really clean, comfortable and welcoming.

Five star comfort in a very reasonably priced cottage

warm, comfortable and well equipped. Nicer than our house!! It was a leisurely five minute walk to the centre of Alnwick. In the same street is the friendliest pub we’ve ever been in! Outdoor space just enough. Parking very easy.

The property was comfortable.

There was no heating and hot water for 3 of the 4 days booked. The check-in information was also incorrect, giving the wrong house number.

Good location,Nice and quiet,very well appointed,easy parking,local shops etc just 5minutes walk away.The welcome pack was a very nice gesture also!

Had no complaints at all.As it was cold weatherwise, a draught excluder for the living room door would have been handy but we managed with an old hoody out of the car.

A gem of a cottage.

This is one of the nicest cottages we've stayed in, we had a lovely week here. The cottage was warm, cosy and spotlessly clean. The kitchen was very well equipped and the bathroom had the bonus of a bath and separate shower. We had no problems with the on street parking. It's only a 5 minute walk into the town so very well placed.
