Bag End

We honestly couldn’t believe Bag End wasn’t already booked up when we were looking for somewhere for our honeymoon – but we are so glad it wasn’t! This was our second stay here, and it was every bit as amazing as the first. Bag End is a beautiful, spacious and spotlessly clean dog-friendly apartment right in the centre of Keswick. The location really couldn’t be better – everything is right on your doorstep, so we parked the car up for the week and barely needed to touch it! It’s the perfect base for enjoying the beautiful walks around Keswick, wandering around the shops, and making the most of all the fantastic restaurants, cafés and bars. The apartment itself has everything you could possibly need for a comfortable self-catering stay. There’s plenty of space for the two of us and our little French Bulldog, Dotty and one of our favourite added bonuses has to be the gorgeous bath! After spending the day walking and exploring, being able to come back and have a long soak for our aching legs was absolute bliss. We also discovered a couple of new favourites during our honeymoon. Café HNW quickly became one of our go-to spots – dog friendly, live music and such a lovely atmosphere. With the gorgeous heat and sunshine we had during our stay, it was the perfect place to cool down, grab a drink and just chill out together. We also discovered Jimmy’s Social, another new one for us, and absolutely loved it! Really relaxed, chilled vibes, lovely atmosphere and, importantly for us, dog friendly too, so Dotty could come along and enjoy our honeymoon adventures with us. Keswick has become one of our absolute favourite places to escape to, and Bag End is definitely becoming our home away from home when we visit. Being able to leave the car parked up, put the walking shoes on and have everything we love about Keswick within easy reach is exactly what we want from a Lake District break. Our second stay certainly won’t be our last.

Very central, reasonable apartment

Tired furniture, no response to messages on booking.com, directions need updating as the bookmakers under the apartment has closed. Also, very little provided - no tea, coffee, salt and sugar, no toiletries, I toilet roll and hardly any liquid soap.
