Casona del Negro Aguilar

This is a great place to stay. We had the cute room in the back decorated in the style of jaguars, with jaguar mutals and jaguar blankets. The room was clean. The swimming pool was very nice to swim in. They have two coffee areas, one downstairs and one upstairs, and also upstairs there is a kitchen area where you can cook a meal. The coffee is instant coffee, but there are some flavored versions. There's fruit available at the upstairs coffee area, too. It is just around the corner from the ADO bus station, and almost next door to a shop that rents bikes; the plaza grande is only a block away, so it's in a very good location. The owners are very accommodating and pleasant. They lock the front door at night, so it is very secure (you can still get inside if you knock on the door, of course).

This is a beautiful & tranquil place to stay, yet really close to the ADO bus station & the colectivo to Chichén Itza. The owners are so friendly & helpful. Breakfast is not included but there is fruit & toast free for guests. It was great having plenty of drinking water (hot & cold) available, as well as free coffee & tea. My room was spacious & the pool looked lovely though I didn’t use it. The cochinita at El Tigrillo food stall nearby is divine & the Zaci cenote is very close to the centre. I walked there but as a solo traveller I need to buy a dry bag for my belongings for my return trip as there are no lockers. Valladolid is a beautiful place with lots to see & do. It’s also good for just strolling around & relaxing rather than rushing from one site to another. And this is a lovely place to stay if you visit the town.

Lovely people and great location.

We were in the family room. While spacious, the beds were not very comfortable and sheets were quite old and thin. The smell from the washroom was present in both rooms even with windows open and fans on. The building is very old and the rooms are old and very weathered.
