The owner greeted us upon our arrival, explained how to use the room and was very transparent about any extra costs (for extra drinks, breakfast, etc.). It was very pleasant stay and location was amazing. Rooms were cleaned and well prepared for guests. Everything was thought through to make sure that we are welcome. Hospitality on a very high level.

Cosy and quirky stay in good village location

This was a delightful stay in the quirky top floor “Rot Room”, complete with oak beams, so mind your head! Out host Ivonne was very helpful and has put a lot of thought into making the property welcoming and homely. The property is in a peaceful location at the centre of the village. We did have difficulty in finding the entrance door to the property. In the instructions provided, we got confused by “…. you will find my house in the second row of the stairs”. This was because there was also a large set of steps going up to the next road. If it helps, the front door can be located using What3Words ///glad.trickle.tribune

Amazing stylish old Germany

Amazing stylish and cozy room! Perfect bed and mattress! Stylish way by stairs to the room. You really fill this historical German life! It's better in reality than in photos! Located in the historical center of Monschau. Bonus - a special web page with all the aspects of the travelling across Monschau.

The only small remark is that the drawers for clothes are not painted, so we had to cover them with something to avoid damaging clothes with splinters Soundproofing is moderate, but I think it's inevitable for historical buildings. The ceilings are lower than usual. It's not an issue, but may be important for someone.

Absolutely perfect!

The place was exactly as described in the listing. The amenities were complete for a comfortable stay. The bed was easily one of the best beds we’ve slept in and we had very sound asleep on both the nights so we were well rested in the morning. The bathroom is very spacious. The location is perfect as it is a 5 min walk from the parking garage and it is in the city center. Ivonne was very helpful during our stay and we will definitely recommend this place.

Really good taste in a perfect location!

The apartment is located on a excellent spot. The rooms are clean and beatiful. Free coffee and apples, and you can pay for a very good breakfast delivered at the door. Ivonne was a great host. I would definitely recommend it!

Wi-Fi could be better. It required some login where you need to share your email address and phone number. Also, it was only working on 2.4 GHz, which is not the best option. The corridor light could be turned off during night times.

Excellent stay in the green room, everything you need for an overnight stay. We were met immediately by our host for checkin. The green room is very quaint, comfortable and enjoyable. Monschau is a wonderful town for a visit. Highly recommend the H&J.

Unexpected gem in the centre of Monchau

We were very surprised and delighted by the location and quality of this establishment. Right in the centre of town it could not be more convenient and the room itself was large with a great bathroom and decent refreshments. The owner met us when we sent a txt 20 min out and gave a great brief. Breakfast was offered but not taken die to our itinerary

Like anywhere in Monchau parking has to be remote and you walk in. We were on a moyand although i didnt know at the time i could have brought the bike right into town and parked opposite the hotel.

Cute little stay in a traditional house in the old city center of Monschau. For a bigger man (1.87) it was a bit small, but that’s because it’s just an old school house. Can recommend taking the breakfast!! Very cute and complete breakfast in bed.

Great stay in an authentic Monschau building.

The property was very nice. The room was spacious, with a nice sitting area and a big bathroom. The location was perfect to enjoy the lovely village of Monschau. Check in and out is super easy and the host answers fast to your questions. Absolutely recommend this inn.

Perfect stay in the middle of cute little town

Everything. It is in a perfect location to explore the town and Christmas market. Check in is easy but you might need to call them so bear this in mind. Massive breakfast set with great quality products! Very cute room (we stayed in the red room) with themed decor. Love the trust box system.

Excellent stay in a lovely town.

After a very friendly welcome we were shown the Red Room, which is absolutely charming! Very cosy and romantic, with exposed timbers above the comfortable bed. Bathroom was clean and spacious with an excellent shower. The next morning we got a plentiful and tasty breakfast. As soon as you step outside you're in the middle of the historic center (Altstad), with lovely scenery and a good choice of bars and restaurants. Perfect for visiting this quaint little village, especially during the christmas market.

location, attention to the details

The room was too small for 3 persons. Our daughter’ bed was squeezed between two windows. There was plenty of furniture in this tiny room which only contributed to the jam and with no added value. There is no real privacy as the noise from the stairs and the other rooms can be heard as it was in our room. The property should be rather advertised as a hostel with some extras but it is definitely not suitable for families. On top, we were forced to pay 20 euro fee (in cash) for late check-in (we arrived at around 21 h as traveling), although we had duly informed the owner in advance. To be noted that such fees are not announced in booking! And no receipt/invoice was issued for these 20 euro. The owner’ attitude in this case have only damaged more the image of the property and respectively our stay. Customer-oriented approach is lacking, but this was also our general feeling in the village (restaurants and cafes too), probably because there are a lot of tourists anyway…

A beautifully and thoughtfully presented B&B

Location was perfect, just on the edge of Monschau, very quiet spot and not too far to walk from the Burgau car park which at 7 Euros was well priced. Room was beautifully and thoughtfully presented, we were short of nothing. Ivonne has done an amazing job of presenting a beautiful B&B. Breakfast was fantastic, very generous, tasty with great variety. I may have found a new favourite stop over place for regular trips to Bavaria.

The best stay in Monschau

The property is right in the heart of Monschau, which gave us easy access to the hike around the city, but also to nice restaurants and cafes. Ivonne is simply a fantastic host, willing to help and to accommodate us! We loved the details of the room, the decorations, the comfortable bed and antique furniture that made us truly immersed in time. We travelled with our 2 medium dogs and Ivonne prepared for us a dog bed, with treats and water! OMG how lovely is that? We are definitely coming here again! Also, highly recommended to take the breakfast! The homemade selection is BIG, even for vegetarians, and you have ‘leftover’ paper bags in which you can takeaway some food for later. We loved everything. The shower toiletries were also very nice and the fact that you have snacks, drinks and other necessities such as razors, deodorant for you to buy at the venue it’s perfect.

It’s not for everyone - but for the light sleepers make sure you come with ear plugs. We always travel with ear plugs because we are sensitive to noise, so it was not an issue - but bear in mind that, as all the hotels and accommodations in Monschau, it is a traditional house with not so thick walls. However, ear plugs should work just fine :)

Superb!

I loved the place! Just in the middle of the town, super cosy, clean and beautifully styled interiors. The host Ivonne is the kindest lady, she welcomes you more like a friend, has useful tips for the stay including amazing restaurant recommendations. There are so many extras in the room, like you need to discover it and enjoy. There is no better place for a stay in Monschau and I am certainly coming back. Thank you Ivonne for your amazing hospitality!
