Unfortunately only one night, but it was a place where my teenage grandson could wander about on his own.
I personally love old hotels and restaurants that have some character dating back to bygone days. This one was well located and delightful. We had a nice breakfast and a desert the night before, but walked about the town to find another restaurant. Lovely small town with good parking a couple hundred meters away just past the church.
I didn’t mind, but some might not like the stairs. We were staying in the top floor apartments and so had to climb several flights of stairs.

Lovely, comfortable, easy and romantic.
The bed was very comfortable and I loved the balcony. I enjoyed the space of the room and the nice breakfast as well.
I could hear the noise from the neighbours at night, but it was extremely loud.

What a pity
Nice building in a excellent location, in the very heart of Munschau
This is perhaps the worst hotel I’ve ever been to related to my expectations. One should arrive before 18:00, otherwise people at reception will be attending tables at the restaurant and you can be minutes waiting. It’s an old building with no lift, and nobody is willing to help with the suitcases after a long journey. Walls, door and windows are paper thin. So be prepared to listen to the slightest sound or cracking during the night, specially from 7:00, when guests start to get up and descend to breakfast. Phone calls, loud conversations and vacuum cleaner noises entered our room. Luckily, nobody took a shower this morning, so no pipe noises!!!!

A lovely stay in a picture perfect location
The location was perfect. Right in the middle of town, next to the river. The room was large and we had a fantastic view of the river out of the window, as well as some of the lovely buildings nearby. The sound of the water was relaxing and it really added to the magical feeling that Monschau has. The staff were excellent and spoke really good English, so my lack of German (other than the basics) wasn't an issue. We had a warm welcome and they were great throughout our stay.
It's hard to find any real problems with this place. If I had to be picky, the pillows on the bed were useless. Far too soft and provided no head support. We ended up trying to roll them up to make them more firm. I would have slept better had there been good pillows. The only other issue was the shower in the bathroom. It was over the bath, but the fixed screen was so small that it was impossible to shower without flooding the bathroom.

Good starting location
Central location was excellent for visiting the village. Nice view. Very good pancakes. Nice bathroom. Excellent bed.
The pillows were awful. Even stacking four didn't give support. They flattened immediately. Also a simple fan would have been nice in the summer. Also the fact that everything closes in the evening was a big disappointment. Even a portion of olives was out of the question at 20:30. There's also the fact that there's no parking next to the hotel but a bit of help and direction to find the closest options would have been appreciated.
