The Boat House - Isle of Wight

Food and staff were very good, shower was very good. Location was perfect for our requirements. Literally on the beach, only separated by a road

Room was a small twin room although the bathroom was massive. It was also like a sauna and it took too long to get a fan. In addition breakfast tea was self service with a tea bag in cups, it would be lovely to have teapots or mugs as we were up and down to refill the cups.

Had a perfect stay with my daughter and son-in-law last week. The double superior room with double aspect sea view is stunning, both rooms were beautiful, clean, welcoming and very well equipped (radio, TV, tea and coffee), both with spacious, extremely clean en suite bathrooms. The staff were very welcoming and friendly and the breakfast was plentiful and delicious. We didn't have an evening meal there, but the pub was full of diners enjoying themselves when we went out and all quiet when we came back (10.00 pm). A truly perfect place to stay (away from the hurly burly of Ryde or Seaview) and I would definitely recommend.

Nothing - we just loved everything about The Boat House.

My room was light and airy, and a very comfortable bed. Plenty of wardrobe space for clothes to hang and drawer storage. The bathroom was great, with a bath and shower. All was spotlessly clean. The housekeeper went the extra mile to make sure all in the room was as it should be. The buffet breakfast offered was good, and the cooked menu was outstanding. All served by a great chef who doubled up as an excellent waitress.

A good efficient cooling fan would have been appreciated especially as the weather has been very hot. The fan in the room was not really up to the job. Lighting in the car park to the residents entrance would be appreciated.

The rooms are pleasant. Lovely views.

What’s the point of staying in a pub that closes at 9? Very disappointing..
