Great visit to Monterosso!

Great location once we found the place. Good value as we had booked last minute and were pleased with the price. Go up the stairs immediately after the arch. It’s either 81 or 91 stairs. Not an issue but more than the 50 that was mentioned to us.

The address listed when entered into maps takes you to the wrong place. Follow the hosts directions. Would have preferred to meet the hosts. I am not a fan of self check ins.

Lovely room

Very close to the centre, but in a quiet ally. 5 minute walk from station. Clean room, good bath room, loved the atmosphere. Airco worked, although not needed in October.

Communication about check-in was not clear. I came at the expected time but no one there and door closed. I messaged in the booking app but no reply for 15 minutes. I called and heard the key was hidden near the door. They could have saved the hassle with a message where I could find the key and which room was mine. Or let me know I had to call on arrival.

The location is good, but at 7 a.m. the church bells start ringing very loudly.

1. At first glance, the room appeared clean, but the shower stall was in terrible condition. There was black, fluffy mold in the corners and on the walls. 2. The bed begged for mercy, creaking loudly at the slightest movement. 3. Check-In Info wasn’t provided beforehand, you have to call.

Good location in Monterosso

We stayed 3 nights. The location was good, however be prepared to walk up some stairs. The room was spacious, the air con worked well. The bathroom was of okay size.

It was tricky to find as maps was incorrect, however the staff did send through a detailed message on how to get there. Upon arrival, the door was locked and we had to wait a while for a staff member to check us into our room.

A great little room for two in the heart of Monterosso

Location was perfect, right in the heart of the old town.

Check-in was a little tricky as I was provided an address from Booking.com that was incorrect. The host provided directions however we struggled to find those on Apple Maps, Google Maps finally sent us in the right direction. They were a little bit short with us on the phone when we tried to confirm where to go, but we made it in the end and was provided clear instructions on how to get inside etc.

Not what we expected

Fantastic location, steps to get to the apartment but there’s steps all over Cinque terre. Air-con worked wonderfully. Plenty of hot water.

We stayed in the room on the bottom floor of the apartment. Musty damp smell. Shower was full of mould and base filled up when showering. Could have been easily cleaned with toothbrush and bleach. We cut our stay short as we couldn’t cope with the damp smell and ended up washing all of our clothes due to the smell. Host didn’t share details for check in until we were waiting outside the property. It would have been lovely to have had these beforehand. It wasn’t a bad apartment but I expect it to be cleaned thoroughly. Sadly it wasn’t - it could have been a blip as this hasn’t been mentioned before.

Close to main village area and restaurants. People living in the village were very helpful. Location was handy.

Ricky Rooms location was ideally located close to everythin, room comfortable with basic facilities.

Fantastic location if you are prepared/able to walk up 92 steep steps to reach your accommodation. Very basic facilities. Shower great, view was lovely. Close to the town centre, restaurants & cafes.

Accessibility, as a fit 42 y.o. I found it very difficult to carry my bag and then my mum's to our room and back down again on check out. If you need to go back to your room a few times during the day it's not easy. Very limited kitchen facilities with no sink, you need to use the bathroom basin. More like a motel room.

Close to everything in old town.

First, Lots of stairs (steep at times) so be prepared if that is a problem for you. Otherwise, we had the upstairs room and really enjoyed our stay. Giovanni was very kind and helped us with a problem where speaking and understanding Italian was imperative. Highly recommend!

lovely central location with a cute and cosy room. gave us an authentic experience of staying in the cinque terre. the stairs to the room were not that bad! air con was amazing and we had a turndown service on the second day which was nice! worth the price in comparison to other properties in monterosso.

the owners gave no help in getting to the property despite attempting to get information before arriving. we ended up using directions in the comments of Booking.com. i would recommend the owners post clearer pictures of how to get there from the train station and when you walk up the stairs. there was the bare minimum for the facilities and we could hear the air con unit all night as the bench near the window was broken. the room was not 100% clean so beware if you are concerned about those sort of things.

Relaxing!!

It was close to the train station and was a nice private room. I enjoyed the room and it was clean and nice. The area is super nice and it was very relaxing.

The room has 80 stairs to get up to it. The walk to the room was flat it is just the stairs to the apartment. The bed also creaked whenever you moved which was annoying

Lovely stay. The room could easily be improved by sound proofing the neighbour condenser.

The location was perfect. It was a few steps from the Main Street and a couple of minutes from the sea shore.

The neighbours air conditioning unit is in a box under the window in our room and is very noisy. The bathroom smelt musty. Also the jug was broken and gave steam burns when you picked it up by its handle.

Great stay next to the beach

Location was super convenient to the beach and restaurants. We woke up one more to a flee market right at the bottom of our stairs which was great! Close enough to the train station to explore all of the towns of Cinque Terre. Definitely a lot of stairs which we didn't mind but something to keep in mind for someone else. The room was great and clean but very small. Again, something we didn't mind but something someone else might.

The front door was kind of hard to get open, have to jiggle the key!

Great communication, perfect location and cozy room!

Excellent communication with the host! Perfect location! Cozy room! Everything was just wonderful. The location could not be any better! 100m from the beach, very quiet area. Be aware you must climb some steps to get there but it was no problem for us! You must visit their winery; it is absolutely breathtaking with amazing food and wine. We would gladly stay here again!

Pleasant

The location is very good despite the stairs and the room and bathroom are quite spacious. Cheaper than other options in the area. The air conditioning works well. It’s okay.

The air conditioning unit hums all night. The machine is outside our window but it’s only separated from our room by a wooden plank, so you hear it as if it was inside. If the upstairs neighbours keep the air conditioning on, you’ll need ear plugs. The kettle didn’t function properly, the off button doesn’t work and it keeps boiling. My husband burnt his finger on it. The room looks clean, but upon closer inspection it was pretty dusty.

Good spot from which to explore the Cinque Terre

The room was right in the town.

We could have used more help with our luggage getting to and from the room. The view was not great but the location was good.

Super disappointing stay. Unhygienic room and terrible service. A real rip-off!

The only thing that was decent about this accommodation was the location, the rest was an utter disappointment, especially the service.

We booked a sea view room and it was confirmed weeks ago, but they decided to give the room to some other guests without informing us. Upon arrival, we waited 30 mins and a woman showed up with two other guests, despite having waited for a long time already, she asked us to stay outside in the rain so she could check the other people in first. Then she chatted with them for another 20 mins before letting us into the room. I asked why we have a mountain view despite having reserved the sea view room ages ago. She literally instructed us to stick our head out of the window and turn to the right to find a corner of the sea. When I showed her the confirmation email with “sea view” she just said she had nothing to do with it and asked us to pay up right away. We suspected that the couple before us gave her a huge tip so she gave them our room. On top of the terrible service, the room was not cleaned thoroughly. There was a dead bug stuck on a lamp shade by the bed. Surfaces were sticky and stained. Mouldy shower doors, poor quality furniture and many things were broken and could easily be replaced but they really don’t seem to take care of the place. Shower gels were opened and half used up in a tray full of soapy water. It was disgusting and really unhygienic especially during the pandemic. It was the most disappointing experience during our entire stay in Cinque Terre. I’d like my money back!
