Above and beyond expectations . It is a working farm that is holding up the old traditions of farming and it was spectacular one of the most beautiful places I’ve been . The botanical garden is incredible there is a beautiful secluded lake that has been preserved for centuries and I’m so grateful to have seen.
I can’t wait to return . The food was all home grown and delicious this place has kept its rustic nature and is so useable for anyone so great for families we were there in winter so didn’t get to use the pool but dreaming of returning
That we had to leave

Fascinating location near Fiesole, room was comfortable, parking was outside property but nearby and accessible and free. Breakfast was very satisfying and omelette made to my request. I chose to do a farm tour and olive oil tasting and really enjoyed this experience and meeting the staff. It is a working farm. Guests can explore the grounds and walk to meet the animals on site. Good local restaurant recommendations by staff. Historical buildings.
The drive in and out of Florence to get there as google maps tended to get me lost, and many one way narrow streets to navigate. The weather had been wet so I felt I was unable to explore more of the farm due to the ground being so wet. But maybe next time I will be able to do this. As it was winter the restaurant was not open, but it would be nice to try the local produce in the warmer months when it is open. You need a car to access this property easily.

Nothing much to like.

The only good thing about this property is the view and the animals
My rooms had black mold in the bathroom and the emergency number and hotel staff were completely unwilling to help us change rooms or refund us. DO NOT STAY HERE. Also no AC and only tiny windows that flood in mosquitos if you open them.

Open space and beautiful
Our room had only windows high up it looked like a prison

A charming farm with friendly and helpful staff, and with gorgeous views over the Tuscan hills and valleys. The food is excellent.
They also produce their award winning olive oil and run tours across the property
The cleaning of the room wasn’t the best

We were travelling with a two year old, so this review is regarding that:
Very charming place and with a nice tuscany-outback vibe.
The pool was very nice with a beautiful view and had a kids pool. Children were in general very welcome.
So we chose the place because it had animals and a playground. But the animals were quite faraway and hard to get to with a two year old. And the playground is a single slide faraway as well. So probably better for a bit older children.
The food was very italian’esque and simple, but unfortunately quite average. And some of the hot dishes were cold.
The rooms were very noisy, so one could hear everything from the apartment beside us and upstairs. And one does not have a view from the room or terrace.

Large room, good working AC, and most comfortable beds of our holiday in Italy. Also great location outside of the city. You can explore Florence during the day and chill next to the pool in the afternoon/evening while enjoying the amazing view. The breakfast was also great (for Italian standards).

Beautiful rural farm location, just outside Florence. Several great restaurants within walking distance. Excellent views of the countryside.

It’s quiet and beautiful!
No air conditioning spaces to eat. It was very hot when we were there. Perhaps those were rare temps.

Our stay at Fattoria di Maiano was nothing short of unforgettable! From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the breathtaking views that stretched across the Tuscan hills, truly picture-perfect scenery everywhere you looked.
We stayed in a beautiful apartment that felt like an authentic Tuscan villa. It was cozy, charming, and filled with character, making us feel completely immersed in the local culture. One of the things we loved most was the peaceful silence, so rare to find these days, which allowed us to fully relax and recharge.
A highlight of our stay was visiting the farm animals on the property, which added such a unique and heartwarming touch to the experience. The staff were incredibly polite, always available if needed, yet perfectly non-intrusive, which made our stay feel even more serene and personal.
We truly wished we could have stayed longer. Fattoria di Maiano is a magical place that captures the essence of Tuscany in every way, and we cannot wait to return. Highly, highly recommend!
We would mention that getting down into Florence on foot for meals can be a bit tricky. However, there are some great alternatives nearby, like Cucina PietraForte or the Pescatore restaurant just up the road. You can also dine at the hotel itself, though they do require a minimum stay of two nights for that option. Honestly, the distance from everything is exactly what made the place feel so peaceful and special, we wouldn’t change a thing!

Interesting place.. felt a little fragmented. Patchwork of bldgs but No center. We liked the room , bed and bathroom. All clean and nicely built out , but a little dark. One small window. Fairly isolated . Didn’t want to drive , so walked up road 350 meters to only restaurant that was open.
Breakfast.

Eveything.
Very picturesque, private parking, own swimming pool.
An area worth visiting, especially for families with children.
Breakfast with few dishes, but tasty. All the food was cold, only the tea was hot.
Don't forget to make a reservation for dinner.

Fattoria di Maiano was in a great location for us, especially with a hire car, as we were visiting Florence and nearby towns.
The room was simple but had everything we needed, and breakfast included plenty of fresh produce straight from the farm.
We were travelling as a couple, but it would be perfect for families too — the fact that it’s a working farm with lots of animals made it feel really special. We loved wandering around and spotting ducks, donkeys, peacocks, and even ostriches!
It was off-season during our stay, so a little chilly and the pool wasn’t open yet — but it looked beautiful, and I can imagine it’s perfect on a sunny day!

Location very convenient to Florence, only a 10min drive to the outskirts of town where you can park and walk in. The staff were all so friendly to us and our girls, a special mention for Helena who looked after the girls on the pony rides. The on site restaurant served great food, breakfast was good. Farm was also excellent and our girls loved feeding the animals and playing at the various play equipment.
No complaints.

I had a wonderful experience at Fattoria di Maiano with my teen age daughter. The place is wonderful. Wonderful view over the Tuscany hills. 10 min away from Florence. Very practical. In the summer, Fiesole is more fresh, there is a breeze . The salt swimming pool is fabulous ! And the breakfast are amazin ! The best breakfast i ever had ! All the products comes from the farm or local producers from Fiesole ! Local yogurth, local fresh fruits, homemade jams, homemade cakes, homemade orange juices, fabulous italian coffee. And THE BEST croissants i ever tasted in my life !!! I had a wonderful experience at Fattaria di Maiano. People who work there are absolutely adorable ! 💙 grazie mile per tutto !

It was so Wonderful experience that i came back ! Excellent location (10 min away from Florence center by car). Beautiful landscape. Beautiful view over the hills of Toscany. Excellent breakfast with only organic food, local products, homemade jams, homemade cakes, fresh orange juice, delicious coffee. If you are a family, it is a perfect place for your family summer holidays : there are animals like donkeys, … in the beautiful parc of the farm. Fattoria di Maiano is a fabulous place !

The breakfast was excellent. Fresh and homemade. You really got the feeling that it came directly from the farm. The lunches were great too. The staff was helpful and communicative. The pool was a good size and very clean. I really enjoyed my stay.
I think they outdoor space could have been better furnished and decorated, so that you could relax there comfortably. The room was good an comfortable, but I would have preferred a better view.

Breakfast was simple but good quality and friendly staff. Location was good (close to Florence, but still quiet). Lunch/dinner was good.
Some of the restaurant recommendations from the hotel were below our expectations. Lots of mosquitos in the rooms (mosquito nets on the windows would be a good idea).

location, pool, forest trek and property yard including the farm animal experience
Food was very basic considering the charges and the restaurant was closed on some days for dinner. this is a issue considering that the property is out of the city

We had to leave early morning, but the stuff was very kind and brought us breakfast to go the night before. I even got a pack of gf bread as I'm celiac.

The location, pool and excellent food! Staff was kind and patient - accommodating every request I made (taxi etc) Also this place has great history, great vibes and genuine care for people, land and animals. I can’t wait to return ❣️❣️❣️
The pool hours and ground hours are limited.

This place was GORGEOUS. It felt like you’re miles away from the city but it was only 10 mins from the heart of Florence. We took a stroll through the grounds and bumped into beautiful buildings and castles. Loved to see all the animals. Rooms were very clean and nice. Breakfast and dinner and lunch served on site with a beautiful view.
We loved everything about this property

The location was great and unexpected. We had hoped to bus into Florence, but this, we learnt, was not not a good option. The views over Florence were stunning. The restaurant was perfect with this picturesque view. There were other restaurants in the versatility to chose from.. our room was beautifully decorated and comfortable. Our car was safely parked nearby.
Breakfast was not perfect but adequate.

The pool and the stunning view on the hills surrouning Florence. Worth to stay here.
The farm and the animals (donkey, gooses, bees, cattle, peacocks ...).
Also the food is good and fresh / the breakfast and its room.
Well it is Agritourismo - so animals are to be considered. Also the smell of pigs on the terrace of the restaurant?
The relative fresh reanovated rooms miss some decoration and start to get rotten (areas of the wallpaint fall off) the PU foam for glueing-in the doors is not removed outside the door (room no 5 bath)
There is a road with traffic under the window.
The "botanic garden" is nice try, not more.

We had a couple of questions regarding our early check out and they replied our calls/text when we were on our way to our next destination.
The view from our room was to the parking spot, the breakfast was very pour and we basically felt like if someone rent us an apartment without any service included.
We won’t recommend this property you won’t get the vibe of the Tuscany there.

Comfortable, quiet, helpful and friendly staff. You get free access to the botanical garden that is part of the property (more like a farm though). Nice to just walk around and see the city from above. Room was clean and comfortable. Bathroom was excellent.
Towels in the bathroom were not the best, felt like the same material you get with a napkin at a restaurant. The restaurant is only open for dinner Thursday through Saturday. Depending on what direction you're coming from, you may be driving through very narrow streets that is shared by both directions of traffic, so be careful. Overall, i still give it 10 points since it was still a great place to stay.

Staff always kind and helpful.
Great food at decent prices.
Farm life 15 minutes by car from central Florence
Crowded during weekends but this only means it's also popular among locals.
