Chic & bright flat near Holyrood Park

The flat was quirky and had everything we needed. It was a quiet building in a lovely street in Edinburgh, just around the corner from Holyrood House which was where we were going. It was a lovely walk from the flat up into the centre of Edinburgh.

Location was good. No parking available but knew that before I booked. Flat itself was clean and well serviced. Extra bedding, towels available without requesting. Well decorated through out. There are a flight of stone stairs with bannister to first floor.

The main problem was the bed it was over a set of cupboards and drawers which were used as the steps up to it . There is no bannister. My wife was unable to climb due to her mobility problems, So had to sleep on sofa.. This is NOT suitable for elderly people or handicapped. I am not sure if the access to bed is up to Edinburgh Council Building Standards regulations but I would advise that owner puts a bannister on wall for support and contacts Council to ensure safety as it is about 8 foot from bed to floor and a fall would be dangerous.

Location is great

The location was great. Near most necessary things for tourists.

Description didn’t quite match reality. Both beds were in one room. One (the larger of the two) was situated close to ceiling, with steps to get there. My wife wouldn’t attempt it. The other bed was a double with a really thin (2-3in) mattress. We made do with it but definitely not very comfortable.
