The Grey Horse

The room I had was situated above the bar, and although you could hear the music and people, it wasn't to intrusive and it should be expected when staying at a pub. The room itself was spacious enough with a shower room which was clean and tidy when I arrived. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The pub itself was really nice and had sky sports for the football. There is a small shop pretty much next door and a larger one a few minuets walk away.

I can't say there was anything I didn't like in the 2 nights that I stayed.

The room was freezing cold no way to turn the heating on and there was no one to talk to, there was very small oil heater in the room however it didn’t help, the beds was so hard and lumpy didn’t sleep at all

It was convenient for our stay. Room was OK just a little cramped.

Bar closed at 2300 on a Saturday night!!!

The pub looks nice but I don't get the opportunity to sample the ales. Always pleasant when you arrive and very accommodating to special requests.

Last 3 stays they've had heating issues in the rooms and it had been very cold but this stay they did have portable heaters which took off the chill.

Location and ease of parking

The mattress was bloody uncomfortable and suffered with a bad back for the following day. I had the front room so was noisey next to the road.

The staff were very friendly and listened when I had to raise an issue with my room.

It' wasnt deal to check in at the public bar and lump your luggage through but OK. Unfortunately the room i was allocated was very very cold so I had to ask to be moved due to a heating issue being worked on at the time. Sadly the beds were very soft and lumpy and clearly poor quality so it was difficult to get a good night sleep which is so important. The rooms are basic but have everything you need. Whilst the bedrooms appear to have been recently redecorated the bathrooms were a bit dated and my bathroom lacked a heated towel rail so I had to leave the door wide open to try and let heat from the bedroom keep it aired overnight. Finally the walls are quite thin and i could hear the people in the bathroom next to my room, coughing and going to the toilet etc. .

Nice welcoming staff, room was bigger than usual, had en suite also.

No food on offer on arrival, though was made aware a takeaway food delivery was allowed in the room. The room was cold when I walked in and remained cold till I left, condensation laden sash and case wooden windows, (very quaint but not insulating) no secondary or double glazing, there was a radiator with an independent valve, but once opened radiator stayed cold.
