MICHELLE IN VENICE Charming Houses

Beautiful, traditional Venetian apartment with a lived in feel in a quiet location but only 30 steps from restaurants and local food shops around the corner. 11 minute walk to Doges Palace and tourist attractions. Communication for finding the property from the host was very good. Google maps never let us down as we explored the city. Host was also very helpful in securing somewhere to leave our luggage as return flight was at night.

Would have really appreciated some basic supplies in the fridge for on arrival - in particular some water in the fridge as is so hot and as first time visitors we were not prepared for this. Also a good old fashioned instructions folder. We couldn’t get the air conditioning to work at first. Previous accommodation we have stayed at have these along with a few local tips/instructions for appliances/suggestions. Tip: make sure to try the Gnocchi at the restaurant round the corner - best I have ever eaten. However lots of tourist information/links were sent at the beginning of our stay.

Michelle in Venice house was beautiful, the location was perfect. We enjoyed our stay, and loved Venice.

The only downer was the internet, even though we signed up in the bedroom, we couldn’t get internet anywhere else in the house. It was ok, we got by. Everything else was just perfect,thank you so much.

A security box was outside the apartment with the keys.

A word of warning - Michelle is not as charming as he likes to promote himself. MICHELLE IN VENICE offers you 2 apartments named “CA CONTESSA” and “CA VEDUTE DELL’ARSENALE“ - and then, if you are lucky, you will get the apartment you booked. We booked through Booking.com for Ca Contessa. The day before Michelle sent us the access codes for the apartment - but rather for Ca Vedute. We only realized this once we were physically outside Ca Contessa and could not access the apartment. We called Michelle who insisted this was the apartment that we booked - even when we told him about the physical differences (photo’s of a walk in shower were not in our apartment). He then called on his business prestige, his honour and even him being a upstanding father. BTW don’t ask for him to meet and greet you, as this will cost you €20. In hind sight I see why the high price - to discourage a scene when you see that you are not at the apartment you booked for. We tried calling Booking.com to help us, but they merely reconfirmed what Michelle had said. So we did not stay at the physical address supplied by Booking.com. As a token of goodwill we did receive a €25 credit for a future booking with them. It became a battle of words - his word against ours. Sadly we had had to pay prior to checkin.
