Absolutely the Worst Place I’ve Ever Stayed

There's nothing to like about this place

There were no staff at all — not at reception, not anywhere on the property. This place advertises itself like a hotel, but it’s really just a poorly run hostel and not worth staying in for even one night. It took us nearly two hours just to figure out how to get into our room because there was no one to help, and the contact number only went to voicemail. The whole experience felt like a complete scam and a total joke. Avoid this place at all costs.

This was not what we expected . Rooms were not clean paint peeling off the walls. We actually did not stay there. We had to book into another hotel. Very rundown property . Would nor recommend this property to anyone.

It’s a building where the less fortunate of our society live everyday so it’s not a vacation rental

Not one thing I ended up leaving as I could not check in on my phone when I ended up calling the number it was a horrible landlord from Limerick laughing down the phone saying he can’t help I can have my money back so I was left in the dark solo single travelling looking for alternative accommodation

Basic, but Just Right

The premises is in a great location in Kilkenny city. I was in town for a gig at 'John Cleere's Bar & Theatre', so this was ideal. The room was small and basic, but it was just right as I was travelling solo.

From what I experienced, the property was unmanned/unstaffed. I had to contact the premises via their advertised contact number to gain access to the room. I then had to download an app to my mobile device in order to access my room key. I had no problems or issues with the above, but some other guests did, given that they weren't tech savvy.

The fleas in both beds in the room, 15 was the kill count and what can you do. I had to sleep there. Shower needed a grouting job, not hugely expensive, toilet seat needs fixing. Carpets stained. Bed clothes good exceot for animal life which I have not seen for 50 years.

The location is great and the linens were clean.

So much mold. Mold. Mold. Mold. The place was visually mold infested and the smell was terrible. I got sick after. Dirty carpets, filthy mattresses/ pillows albeit the linens were clean. Booking.com photos won't match reality.

I was owed 10 euros change for extra night I stayed - I paid cash , 90 euros for the extra night , left two 50 euro bills on the bed side table - arrived back in the afternoon , no change ?. Rang the owner to find out why he did not leave my change ? - he hung up on me I left without getting any satisfaction. Beware .

Central and relatively cheap.

Rooms are manky dirty. Sheets had spots of black mould on them; which were changed at my request to be fair. Window would not close and opened onto a flat roof. I took my valuables with me as the room could in no way be trusted.

It's more like a hostel, rooms not in great condition, stained mattresses, and leftover furniture in the hallway. No one on reception, key you download an app on the phone. Bathroom in disarray, cracked sink and used body/shower gel left in room. Only 1 broken shower door. Bed sheets relatively clean I wasn't brave enough to check the mattress.pillow VERY flat.Door doesn't feel secure and we didn't feel safe staying there. Won't be back again and we don't recommend staying. Location is good,but considering the price you pay it isn't worth it.

Toilet filthy, had to scrub with bleach. Shower dirty, no wall fitting for shower hose. No bulb in lamp. Chair looked like it was taken from a skip. Bed not made-duvet thrown on top of bed as was 1 single towel.

The location was fab. Very central and a short walk from everywhere interesting.

The room wasn't clean, the bathroom wasn't clean with a horribly dirty toilet, everything had a funky musk to it. The carpet flooring looked like it had several burn marks in it. Both shower doors came off the shower when I tried to close them and no hot water for two days. There was no electric kettle despite advertising one. No contact with staff,no responses to complaints. The pub is extremely loud so no sleep was possible and the fire alarms went off at about 2am. No one stay here please. Trust me.

If you want a cheap bed for the night, it's ok.

It's in a good, central location. At €60 per night, it is cheap. It was very quiet there during the night, so I slept fine. If you want a cheap stay in a passable hostel type accommodation, then it's fine.

You are given access to the front door and your room via an app, which is emailed to you shortly before you arrive. I didn't see any staff, nor is there a reception desk. So, if you have queries, you'll need to contact someone with your phone. The place itself is old, fairly run down and poorly decorated. The shower leaked badly and the bed was too soft.

Our room was large enough, but sadly lacking. Our son's room was TINY, barely room to move around.

Toilet broken (and had to pump the handle 10-15 times to make it flush); Missing Television; No coffee or tea supplies (although there was a kettle); You had to access your room with an app to be downloaded that we didn't know about and the front door lock did NOT work; Broken door on our room; Broken window latch; Dirty & Damaged rug; NO heat in the shower WHATSOEVER and it sprayed all over the place with leaking; Shower heater was out of reach unless you were 6ft tall, but didn't work anyway!; Flimsy pillows; VERY noisy outdoors, even though windows were shut; Very few outlets; No bathroom fan; 3rd floor with very steep steps and no elevator; Dirty Bathroom.

On the day I was due to check in, I received a phone calling informing me that this hotel had been closed for 6 months (I only booked 2-3 months in advance) They person on the phone said they managed to find us alternative accomodation but the place we were sent to was not clean and smelled strongly of stale alcohol. We stayed only because we had no other option. I'm really not sure how a posting stays on booking.com when the hotel in question has been closed for 6 months, I suggest that this listing be removed completely
