Room was clean and spacious and quiet in spite of overlooking a busy road. Check in staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good, some minor issues need attention , no cups for tea and coffee. Bar food was ok, wait staff seemed under pressure. Overall a really good stay,would recommend and would return.

The hotel is beautiful and has an excellent location. The room was just average. It was very warm and had no AC. The bathroom towels are very poor and the outlet situation is not great. No outlets at nightstands to charge phones or plug in a fan. Pillows were nice.

It’s a lovely hotel, very comfortable, it reminded me of one of the old Irish railway hotels. ( My father worked for them so I stayed in a lot) Great breakfast, beautifully presented. The salmon and Scrambled eggs were excellent and the poached eggs too. Our thanks to the chef. Super friendly staff, Arran? was great. We were given a cocktail in the lovely bar, which was a nice treat. There was nice music in the bar, Only teeny wobble was our room looked as if the cleaner hadn’t finished, or had been called away. Hotel very central, super close to Kilkenny Castle, but very quiet.

We stayed for a night, the building is beautiful and well maintained. The bar was friendly with live music which we enjoyed and the breakfast was delicious. The only issue we could raise was that having taken the lift to the second floor there were more steps to reach our room. Fine for us but potentially an issue for some. Also they need bigger towels in the rooms!

The hotel is in the heart of the city. The staff was kind and suggested many different restaurants and sites to visit. There is no AC in the room. However, it was very comfortable to sleep. The room is spacious and clean. The breakfast was included. However, it was a little underwhelming. The coffee machine was broken. The bar is gorgeous and a great place to have a drink and a bite to wat at the end of the day.

The hotel was great in all respects only drawback no car park as it was expensive to park nearby. Check in rather late at 4pm but can be worked around as so much to do in the city

The hotel itself was great and offered an amazing made-to-order breakfast in the morning. The location is great as well, right near the Medieval Mile and close to Kilkenny Castle. My only complaint was the rooms did not have air conditioning, so it was uncomfortable sleeping.

Pros- excellent location, great breakfast choices and the cook will make it fresh instead of the buffet Cons- noise: since there’s no AC, we opened the windows. On the first floor it was incredibly noisy from the street- street sweepers, garbage trucks, from sun up. Bed- I can see why others said the beds were uncomfortable. For the first two hours we couldn’t fall asleep ( not just because of the singing and music from the street), but we realized the mattress was only one sided and it was upside down. After flipping and remaking the bed, it was very comfortable. How does housekeeping not know this? General had an older feel- carpet stains and a black stain in the center of the shower curtain.

The hotel was amazing it was right in the middle of town. Very close to the Abbey, the tower, and the castle! It was my husband‘s birthday so they left us a card and chocolate bar as a gift. I think they may have even upgraded our room!

Loved the Kilkenny Hibernian Hotel! Great location! So easy to get there from the JJ Kavanaugh bus stop. Well-located in town to see the castle and walk by the river. Friendly service in every encounter. T he hotel was charming. Room was exactly as pictured. The only thing was that it was unseasonably warm in Kilkenny during our stay & our non- air conditioned room was on the top floor. You could feel the heat rise as we approached our room. The room was equipped with both a ceiling and a desk fan, so that helped. We loved having live music at the bar in the hotel. It was so easy. It had the local feel that we were looking for. Clean and comfortable. We would stay here again for certain.
