Location and privacy.

No air conditioning or a dehumidifier. On days with 35-38 C°, the apartment was extremely hot and humid.

we were very pleased by location of the apartment and service of the owner. He was very kind and helpful. Apartment was clean, comfortable, with fully equipped kitchen.

there is no TV set in the apartment, and I am OK without TV, but for other people it could be a problem

The location was the best thing about this place. Easy to walk to Rambuteau metro, Notre Dame and facilities like supermarkets, restaurants and cafes. This may sound minor, but I was very happy there was a choice of feather or man made fibre pillows, as hardly anywhere provides feather ones and I cannot use manmade pillows. Communication with the host was good, and self check in was well explained, including photos.

The fact that a living area is mentioned in the facilities and there are several photos of living areas, strongly suggests that all apartments do have living rooms...but no, there was only a small bedroom and a tiny kitchen and bathroom. I would not have booked this place if I had been aware of this. It was totally misleading. Kitchen facilities were very minimal and the worktop got soaked each time the tap was used, which means the worktop is degrading. The trap in the bathroom sink must have dried out, leading to a very stinky drain smell, unless you put the pop up plug down constantly. The worst thing of all was the racket coming from the bar along the road, this went on until at least 2.30 am on Friday, but strangely it was closed on Saturday and Sunday thankfully. If we hadn't brought earplugs we would have had about 4 hours sleep. The soundproofing is non existent and the apartment is at the front of the building. Noise from neighbours in the building and traffic is also extremely loud. The apartment is very, very small...basically a studio with a separate kitchen. We were very surprised there was no TV provided, I have never experienced this before. It would have been appreciated in the evenings. I can't believe that booking.com allows people to advertise accommodation as having something it does not have, such as a living area - this really needs to be amended.
