Hotel Oleana

The hotel is easy to get to from the light rail station and is easy walking distance from the centre of Bergen. I made the booking as I needed a hotel after my flight home was cancelled and while talking to Thomas who checked me in and explaining that I had to be at the airport for about 4am he immediately offered to book a taxi for me. When I checked out the receptionist said he had a message from the taxi driver to say he was slightly delayed. I would book this hotel again.

Perfect location in the city center, with a spacious room so we could have space even with a baby crib. Very comfortable bed and shower. Nice staff and indeed really delicious buffet breakfast with choice and delicious products.

Not much: note baby crib is not free (100 NOK/night). Our room was facing the back but this gave more quiet and darkness so cannot complain!

Location was really perfect. On a very nice street a short walk from the harbour. We had a balcony overlooking the attractive streetscape. Staff were very friendly.

Room is very small, but bed was comfortable, so it was perfectly fine for a 2-night stay.

Location was excellent, for exploring both sides of the city. Thomas was really helpful.

A lack of usable cooling in rooms, it was very hot and windows did not open. In a country with 20hrs of daylight, the lack of blackout curtains meant it was bright for most of the night (photo at 1am in early July) - single layer, unlined, thin material. Breakfast was ok, but was not 4* hotel. It was too crowded around the buffet , coffee not great, items not restocked etc - was overall a bit average. Most ridiculous light switches and settings known to mankind. Loud on the top floor, but given windows didn’t open, wasn’t awful from the surrounding bars!
