Friendly family run resort, helpful and honest. Can book all the travel to and from, the jungle trek was expertly run.

Pretty environment in one of the first small scale resorts that were build around Bukit Lawang. Very friendly hosts giving us warm welcome, good company, great food and a 2 dag jungle trekking guiding us in a good hike, nice information and laughter and great food before sleeping surprsingly comfortable down the river. We we're lucky and met Orang Oetang, Gibbon and more.
Bukit Lawang grew into an small village - build by owners themselves - and is tourist zone. In low season Bukit Lawang (april) is calm and sleepy. Personally I liked that but whem you're in for more alive scenery, book in high season. Although in weekends (and when no rain) people from the villages around seem to come over and make more party.

11 ans après je suis revenu à bukit lawang et ai choisi de séjourner dans le même établissement.
L'endroit est toujours aussi charmant et les propriietaires sont toujours aussi charmants !
Un endroit de rêve situé au bord de la rivière
Attention toutefois : on peut y prendre goût et prolonger son séjour 😃

The room was very cheap but it is reflected in the size which was small. A matrass on the floor and a chair where the only items of furniture and the room was dark and a wooden box. I didnt notice a fan on the wall until the morning but the electricity in the village went out anyway so not used. clean but sparse would be an apt description, I would recommend paying for a better room in future and will return at some point.
Better lighting the room was very dark
