Security deposit still not refunded

It’s been almost 2 weeks since I checked out and still didn’t receive my refund of the security deposit.

It's okay for a couple of nights.

The apartment was very close to the tram station. The grocery was also very close. We had a duplex, this had all the amenities needed during the stay, microwave, coffee machine, dishwasher, oven, TV and also a google home. The apartment was neat and clean. Ruben (the owner) was very helpful and friendly.

The apartment had a very narrow staircase to reach. Also one of the beds was in the attic and one had to reach there with a risky staircase. I won't recommend it if you have small kids. I can imagine during summer sleeping in the attic will be difficult.

Not an apartment

The connection with the tram is quite good.

These should not be called apartments. The room did not even have an ensuite, you need to go out the room and across the stair landing is the toilet. Very uncomfortable especially during the night. The common kitchen is two floors down and there is no lift. So carrying the luggage upstairs is a nightmare for an old couple. Nobody came to check if anything needed. Saw nobody during the stay. First time I travelled and had to buy pillows as there were only small flat cushions on the bed.

Brussels Scam

Before you book J and R Brussels City read this. An 'environment' tax (no such thing in Brussels) of €80 was part the booking. It is a City Tax the rate is dependent on the municipality you are staying. Johan charged nearly 4 times the amount it should have been!!!! When I arrived, he told me I had to pay €100 deposit for possible damage to the property. I did not have cash. It was put on my debit card saying it was a bond but it was taken out of my account. He said the €100 would be given back the night before we checked out as we legt on an early flight. It wasn't. I had to go through Booking.com and fight to get my money back. This took nearly a month. Johan was very rude and blamed me when I tried to get the money from him. I found other reviews of people who had similar experiences. His response shows his true colours. The place was clean. The shower only has a shower curtain separating you from other people in the place. The toilet also could be more private. The kitchen is good but we had plenty of utensils (blunt knives) but only had one mug. Also the staircase is very narrow, making it difficult getting suitcases up. I have stayed at many places around the world, this was my worst experience and worst host.

Since it was a shared property, slight sound while even walking would bother residents on first floor. Cleaning staff didn’t even clean our washrooms, probably miscommunication on the process.

My stay was good but could have been better. Put guest needs first before Money!

The location and easy access to the Tram in front of the place.

Bathroom is detached and have to walk through the hallway which you can meet another stranger who lives in the other apartment. Also, the owner reached out to me to complete transaction in 3 hours before i checked in and i was traveling by Train which i couldn't get the security deposit completed until i arrived in Brussels which made my trip very unpleasant because this could have been done a day or two earlier. Why the same day and close to the check-in? I have already paid for the stay with booking.com then you charged me extra for bringing a baby. You could have giving me the instructions earlier to learn it. Had an argument with my wife for no reason... You did me wrong and I will not consider this place again when I visit Brussels.

Nice location, but pretty bad experience

Clean studio and close to the tramway station.

The entrance was so unhygienic and it had a really bad odor, also the room had a door which lead to another room and the door was transparent glass so basically there’s was so little privacy, and another thing I didn’t like was the location of the washing machine which was in another house that you had to cross the street to get to and I advise before booking making sure which type of room you chose because he posted in the site a lot of photos for different rooms so you can choose the wrong apartment like I did and I chose a bad one by accident which had 2 bunk beds and we are a family.

They ask for extra 100 euros that will be refunded and they do not refund at the end if the stay. They are frauds. After making payment, they ask for more money inorder to get access to the premises Tiny stairs No elevator

Great stay!

I like that you are close to a lot of locations around Brusseles and you have shops next to the property, transportation and parking spots 2minutes away. The beds are very comfortable also and they have personal garage were you can live your car stress free.

BIG YES!

The hosts were really kind and helpful! We had to wash our clothes, and the host invited us to stay at a big outdoor terrassa in another complex in the meantime. We really loved this attention, and the comfort + kindness of the hosts definitely make this place a BIG YES!! I recommend it.

Good, but there is certainly scope for improvement

Staff was very friendly, easily accessible. Location is prime, close to grocery stores, tram stop. Good parking stops (for 20 euro each day)

The fee of 20 euro per person per night is too much. For a large group, it is substantial. Owner should provide appropriate materials in the house to justify the fees. This includes better quantity and quality of towels, better quality toilet paper, provide toilet accessories. Every material provided is very cheap quality.

Overall it was very comfortable.

The room was very clean and there was a lot of space. The beds were very comfortable. The windows were big and let in a lot of light. The accommodation was close to public transport stations. The information pamphlet was practical. Everybody from the J & R Team was nice and helpful!

The apartment is in excellent location , accessible to metro station.

Very strict on timing. i went at 2 PM and in the afternoon and got the room at exact chekin time at 3PM Check out time also so exact. Some flexibility is needed since many families are staying.

I liked nothing in this property.

All figures are fake. It is shown in the pictures like a very luxury apartment. But I think it is like a hostel than an apartment and calling it LUXURY APARTMENT is a joke. It was my worst experience with booking.com. The kitchen is not in the apartment while it is shown in the pictures that apartment has its own kitchen. A big lie! It is written that the luxury apartment is 70 square-meter while it is less than 40 square-meter.

The owners are very nice and helpful. They give out a leaflet about metro connections and what to see which is incredibly helpful. The room is nice and cozy and theres a tram station 1 minute away with connections to the city every 5 minutes.

Starting with the bathroom being outside the room, this was not written in the ad, the photos are not true either. The room was at a different address, terrible because the host was extremely rude, my 12-year-old daughter was charged a fee, but we know that she does not pay due to her age. Extremely dirty bathroom and old towels. My stay even if two days was horrible we have no words to explain my displeasure. Disappointed
