Columbine Cottage

A lovely cottage which met all our requirements, location was perfect - 5 minutes away from the river and town yet tucked away in a quiet cul de sac with parking outside the property. The garden although small had all we needed with outdoor seating and a pretty border and pebbled area. It is not enclosed so if you have a pooch that is adventurous you should be aware,Warm and cosy - smart TV and a varied bookshelf if TV is not your thing. The owner Rosie kept in contact to check that we were ok and even sent us some lovely chocolate goodies by post ! Jane (the caretaker) does a fantastic job looking after the cottage. Certainly can recommend and hope to return.

Nothing all was good

Cosy, quirky cottage. Location was excellent. Parking at front of house.

Drive and parking were quite tight. Garden was not enclosed for dogs.

Excellent location. The town is within a few minutes walk. Lots of shops, eateries and pubs within walking distance. Also plenty of country walks accessible on foot without having to drive anywhere first. Within a 10 - 5 minute drive you can access the Forest of Dean and explore King Arthur caves and the site where the TV series Merlin was filmed. Gloucester, Cheltenham and Cotswolds are all just a short drive away too.

The inside of the cottage is quite dated and it did smell damp and musty on entering. Some of the glasses and cutlery were dirty and the towels had an odd smell too. Downstairs the electric fire in the lounge warms the cottage lovely and there are electric heaters upstairs in both bedrooms. The mattresses on the beds aren't the comfiest. The cold tap on the bath doesn't run and so if you run a bath you have to use the shower to cool it down.
