Great hotel for a skiing holidays, family friendly.

Fantastic breakfast - with maracuja, avocado, bluberries, omelette, pineapple, salmon, broad choice of cheese or ham. 4 saunas, pool, gym - great regeneration after skiing. Location in between Kaprun and Zell am see, just 4-5 bus stops from the ski-lifts. Highly recommended and we will surely be there back next season.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The breakfast was excellent, with plenty of delicious options to start the day. The rooms and apartments are spacious and comfortable, offering a great balance of style and practicality. Everything was spotless, and the staff were always polite, friendly, and ready to help. The spa is another highlight — relaxing and well-maintained, perfect for unwinding after a busy day. Overall, a fantastic experience that I would gladly recommend! I also appreciated the available ski room, which made storing equipment easy and convenient.

It is only a winter time hotel.

Location

No AC in most of the rooms , they ask you to open the window which make you under flys and mosquitoes attacks. The admin ask you to sign a very strict hotel roles stating to compensate any accidental damage to any room structure, utilities, appliances and other furniture

Disappointing stay in Junior Suite

Positives: the room was large and spacious, with a separate shower and toilet.

The hotel is located very close to a road, around 150 meters from a train stop, and only about 5 meters from actual railway tracks. While the train station is mentioned on Booking.com, the proximity of the railway tracks right under the windows is not. Trains start running at 06:40 and the last one we heard was around 22:00. They pass by approximately every 30 minutes. Even with the window closed, the noise is clearly audible. There is no ventilation or air conditioning in the room. While that may be acceptable for this region, it's a big issue considering the tracks are so close — opening the window is not an option, and there are no mosquito screens. At 3 AM we woke up because the room was hot and stuffy. Usually, hotels provide at least two 0.5L bottles of drinking water — here, there was none at all. The worst part was the bed linen. It was covered in other people’s hair — different types. It felt like the bedding hadn't been changed at all. The headboard was also questionable — I don’t even want to think about what's on it. Conclusion: for €175 per night — absolutely not worth it. I wouldn’t recommend staying here to anyone.

Modern amenities with delicious breakfast

The facilities were new and modern, the breakfast was delicious and with gluten free options upon request, despite the hotel being located right by the street and a train station, the room was super quiet (the walls and windows must be sound proof). A well-equipped gym was also a plus.

Proximity of pool and wellness area was a too close. If you’re coming there to relax in the wellness area, you should bear in mind that the relaxation area is connected with the pool so it got really noisy when the families with kids were using the pool. The two should be separated in order to allow the guests who want to relax, maximize their comfort. Also the saunas were used by little kids so it really was hard to relax and disconnect, despite the amenities being really nice.

Overall very good stay at Sonja Alpine Resort

Excellent breakfast! Big and spacious room (we book a room with balkony). Excellent SPA facilities! Free parking around the hotel. Very frendly and helpful staff.

The restorant closes at 20:00, the SPA is open untill 21:00, so one have to choose - have a dinner or use a SPA. It shoukd be nice if the restaurant will be serviceable till 22:00, at least one hour after SPA closure. No air conditioner in the room, we visited on April, but on summer this can be an issue.

Ask for room not near railroad

We got room 10 m near railroad and staff didn't wanted to change or upgrade. When I asked the reception clerk, why they don't mentioned close railroad,her answer was that we could check in Google Street.

best accommodation we had for our trip,specious room, fantastic view from the balcony, breakfast is so good and the Arabic staff mr abo yazan and the ladies are so polite and helpful and from reception:denice and dragon are super friendly and helpful my husband is so happy from their cooperation :)
