Location and accommodation 10/10
While the accommodation and grounds were excellent, providing a 10/10 experience, unfortunately, the service from the staff left much to be desired. We had booked a dog-friendly lodge and brought our dogs, although I wasn't aware we needed to contact them after booking to confirm. As a result, we were initially placed in a non-pet-friendly lodge, but we were unaware of this mix-up.
On day two, we overheard staff discussing our dogs outside the window. When I opened the window to check on the situation, I was met with a barrage of negative comments about having our dogs with us. I calmly explained that we had booked a dog-friendly stay and showed the booking confirmation, only to be told, "You couldn't have." At this point, I asked, "Are you calling me a liar?" Then proceeded to show my booking for lake view "3" (allocated lake view 2)
While the location itself was lovely, the manner in which the situation was handled significantly impacted our experience. It's important for staff to approach such situations with professionalism and a calm demeanor to resolve issues without escalation.
