Great location and everything we needed for a night's stay.
Could do with another plate to serve all 6 guests dinner, there were only 5 available!

We thoroughly enjoyed our three-day stay at Mountain View No. 161. The house was spotless, warm, comfortable, and well equipped, and matched the description exactly. The location is excellent and very quiet, with an easy ten-minute walk into town via the RN7 cycle and footpath, which is well lit in the evenings. We would be very happy to return and already look forward to a future stay in the spring.

The property was well equipped and not far to walk into Aviemore centre. The staff were very helpful. We have been before and will book again.
We had a problem with getting tv to work as it was saying no signal. We contacted and staff and they were helpful.

Great location, comfy beds and well maintained facilities, and clean house.
There is nothing I didn’t like

Having the enclosed garden right out the kitchen door was a bonus for our 2 dogs.
The only thing is the electric radiators, you can’t adjust them so no control, thankfully sitting room has a separate electric fire that you can click on if required.

Size of garden for family and dogs - excellent!
Beds a little soft but didn’t impact on a fabulous stay.

Easy walk into centre.
The home was decorated lovely with Christmas decorations. There was a mini hamper waiting for us. Keys were in a key safe, so easy to check in. House was warm and clean. Could park on the drive way. Phoned the host at 7pm and they answered with no issues.
The only thing that I think the house could do with is an outside light around the side for loading or unloading in the dark.

We stayed at Birchdale Cottage - 168 which was a 10 minute walk from Aviemore via the cycle path. It was clean, spacious and quiet in a great location. It was a 2 bed bungalow with an extra sofa bed plus ensuite in one of the rooms. Lovely garden area too!
Unfortunately the beds were uncomfortable I would say the bed was a 3/4 not a double and found the storage heaters were dated and difficult to control the temperature! For the price we paid I would say it was expensive for what we got, although finding a property in Aviemore last minute is difficult!

Brand new heating in the house really helped, kept it super toasty. Many things renewed inside, beds, shower, electricals, and flooring. New garden furniture too.
Some cleaning missed, main bedroom mattress tired, some sheets and pillowcases stained, but these are very minor issues.

All on one level, perfect size
Shower in main bathroom was hot and cold! Check out too early! I get having to be out for next guests but 10am wastes the last night! Cleaner was waiting outside as we walked out, but wouldn’t be much to clean as you have to stripe beds, put dishwasher on… as expected left spotless cleaner wouldn’t have much to do however we were out on our ear with 4 hrs to hang about on home transport. As I say just too early!

Beautiful location just outside of Oban.
Low water pressure. Slight smell in the cottage.

House was perfect, a real home from home. Had everything we needed.
Having to strip your beds before leaving, really annoying after paying a lot of money.

Great location for visiting Aviemore area and the property was well-equipped with everything you needed to cater for yourselves. Good bike shed was a bonus. The garden was fairly peaceful and private.
The sun room was a welcome additional space and the ceiling fan was well used!
The property was clean and fresh for our arrival and a bottle of water and some shortbread were left to welcome us.
There were a few things that would have made our stay more comfortable. We struggled with the heat, in fairness it was a HOT week, but we found the windows to be an issue - they wouldn't stay open and there didn't seem to be a lock option for safety. We really struggled to air the house. A fan or two would have been useful but may not have solved the issue without cooler air entering the space. It was still 27 degrees inside when we went to bed and there wasn't a safe way to keep the windows open at night when it was cooler. We enjoyed the ceiling fan in the sun room but found it hard for all four of us to sit comfortably on the chairs given.
The outside picnic table could have done with a parasol or shaded area as we couldn't sit at it in the heat of the sun. We used the deck chairs in the shade but it would have been helpful to have a small table to go with them.
There didn't seem to be enough plugs in the bedrooms, a few extension leads would've solved that.
The master bedroom was quite snug, though we appreciated the en suite. There was very little space for cases/bags inside the room/house.
The kitchen and dining spaces were very dark, even in the height of summer on a beautiful day we had to put the lights on as there was very little natural light getting to these areas.

We found the accommodation spacious and very clean. Had all the facilities needed.
Only observation was that the red fencing around the property could do with a lock of paint.

Everything went well - from the ease of booking, confirmations, and excellent communication, keeping us right with everything. Also agreed late check-out which was a really appreciated bonus. Very doggy friendly. Excellent wee garden (totally enclosed and safe for children and dogs). The location was excellent, within easy reach of everything. I thought it was excellent value for money and would recommend.
One of the mattresses on the bunk bed was less comfortable than the other (thinner and some springs were felt), and the fitted sheet was too small, and kept popping off (minor niggle, and we just used bed another after the first (restless) night).
Sounds ridiculous in July, but we would have welcomed a bit of heat from the heaters of an evening, but understand that generally in July, you wouldn't/shouldn't need heat (rained most of our 3 night stay and was cooler than normal). There was a fan heater we could use in the living room, but the fan heater in the bathroom didn't work. Had we been staying longer, we would have asked for it to be looked at, but we weren't wanting the hassle of someone coming in to repair during our short stay. In fairness, we did have the option of ringing the owners to adjust the heating (and this was made clear in the instructions) but resisted, given the time of the year - would have done in winter months! Ironically, it was glorious sunshine this morning (check-out day) and very warm inside and outside, and the kitchen heater and lounge heaters were hot - so maybe the setting needs to be adjusted?

Great location and an easy walk to the village centre. Nice quiet and friendly location.
A very minor point, the electric shower in the ensuite had poor water flow.

Property was good but can be difficult to access without a car. The manual given was self explanatory and helpful. The house had everything we could need and more for our stay.
Accessibility without car could be difficult

Excellent amenities. The sauna was a fantastic bonus. Bedrooms were spacious and comfortable. Communal space was huge and well appointed. Outdoor space including BBQ was well used.
Great location, a short walk to the centre of town.

On the flat and near the town
Never used the sauna another toilet would have been a bonus

The house was perfect for 2 families, the layout meant we each had 2 bedrooms and a bathroom per family so remained semi-private although living under the same roof.
Would 100% book again. Communication was good with the owners too & location perfect for exploring Aviemore.
If I had to think of 1 negative , and believe me, it's hard to think of one, there was no area in the house to hang jackets and outdoor shoes. There were clothes hangers in the bedroom wardrobes but no hooks on the back of any doors or a porch area to keep all the jackets etc.

Quiet and pretty handy for the shops and general facilities, over many years have stayed in this estate at least 3 or 4 times lovely scenery around the area , great place to take our small dog great woodland walks together with super supplies in house for our dog altogether a nice place to be with a good degree of comfort and security in mind.
Rear decking was very slippy and could do with a little attention
Could do with grab rail in shower
