Great property! Had everything we needed for cooking. The backyard looked really nice but the weather was a little chilly for us to eat outside. The appliances all worked well - we especially appreciated the laundry and drying rack. Was an even closer walk to town than we expected - you can take a path through the woods. We loved that would could hike Craigellachie without having to drive anywhere.

The house is beautiful, it was spotless, the host made sure we had everything we needed for our stay, very quiet area. Very close to amenities with a 10 minute walk to the local shops which everything you need for a food shop and roughly around 5 minutes drive to the bigger shops and the main street. Would definitely stay at the property again.

I’m sorry, but this place is not ‘exceptional’ like most of the reviewers are reporting it as. Now let me just substantiate that comment. I’m in my late 60s, and have been travelling for almost 50 years, so have stayed in hundreds of different types of accommodations, and therefore I’m fairly sure that I know when a place is above average and this is not. I paid £540 for a 3-night stay, which works out at a rate of £180 per night, so 6 nights at this rate would be £1080. Now I book large 3-bedroom cottages with a hot tubs for a week in different areas of the UK at least once a year for around this rate, and they are all spacious and have everything we require, which this place hasn’t. Firstly, let me go through the good parts; the kitchen is very well equipped and quite useable, but so small. Our two wives found it difficult to prepare and cook our meals due to the limited space. The living/dining area is okay, but the sofas are uncomfortable and not as shown in the photos. The living area could also do with some small tables to put drinks on. The TV is especially small, but okay for the few days we stayed here – we stayed in two more apartments whilst travelling this time and their TVs were around 55”. The bathroom, although small, is quite useable with a good shower, and it also has a washing machine. The free WiFi was okay, and quite utilizable.
Now onto what was mainly wrong with this place - the bedrooms, and mainly the double. This bedroom is no-where near as shown in the photos of the place. There is absolutely no storage or hanging space, and as we had quite a lot of clothing due to the fact that we were dressing up for New Year, and also going out walking so had quite a bit of cold weather clothing, this was a major bugbear. The twin bedroom was exactly the same, except that it had a chest of drawers, but again no hanging space. The double had no mirrors, and as my wife had to do her make-up and hair this really was a major problem – the bathroom had a large mirror, but as 4 of us were trying to get showered and changed for New Year this was being used quite a lot. Also, for the price paid I would consider that the bedrooms should have TVs in them, after all not everyone in the party wanted to watch what was on the TV in the living room. We had to live out of our suitcases for the time we were in this apartment, and at the price paid we really should not have needed to do this. The beds were quite comfortable, so we all slept well whilst here, so this is one saving grace to our stay. So, I’m sorry, but exceptional this place is not, and we don’t think that we got good value for money. We would not book this place again if we were staying in Aviemore.
