Beautiful setting! Lovely staff
Shower flooded - quite steep steps going up to our bedroom especially as we are older.
I hear they are building a pool soon which will be a welcome addition- especially loungers that they don’t have at the moment

The breakfast was amazing. A great selection to choose from and all very well made.
The cottage was also very comfortable, with the a/c being very welcome.
The garden with the braai are also a great addition.
The curtains could be a bit “more effective” at keeping the sunlight out.

It is an interesting place and the room is well designed.
I think for what you get it is a bit overpriced. The fact that the TV is located such that it s uncomfortable to watch is a bit of a drawback as well

The location is lovely and walking around the grounds in the evening is great. They warned me when I initially booked that during the day is their main business and the restaurant/bar shuts around 6.30pm so you need to eat early or go off site.
There was no water pressure in the room, which made showering very difficult. Travelling on my own it did not matter that the toilet and glass panelled shower were in the room but that not work for everyone.

The Weltevreden Estate was the perfect place to stay for relaxation and down time. The staff were so kind and welcoming and the grounds are pretty with sculptures dotted around. We enjoyed the wine and the food, plus had a little garden just off the back of our apartment. It was the two bed apartment, which was great for our small family. Really felt like a home away from home and felt very safe.
The fact we didn't stay longer!

Beautiful wine estate location just on the outskirts of Stellenbosch. Gorgeous spacious rooms with large bathrooms. Lovely outdoor and indoor eating/tasting area. Tasteful decoration. Helpful staff. Very security conscious.
Nothing to dislike - it was lovely

Very serene and well kept grounds. The room was unique and different from other basic hotel rooms. It was a new experience and I loved it!
I will make sure to stay there should I ever visit Stellenbosch again!
Everything was great!

Very beautiful historic monument, staff very helpful but they are all offsite at 6pm. Comfortable rooms, but we had a coffee machine with no coffee pods, only 1 rooibos bag and 1 teabag - it felt mean given the rates. They also sold wine, but no wine bottle opener. The toilet and shower are in the bedroom so you have no privacy if that bothers you. Great recommendations for dinner in Syellenbosch and a brilliant breakfast.
Access is alongside Cloeteville, which isn’t great - even the uber drivers were concerned.

Everything was great and picturesque, the staff went above and beyond for me. Even tho I'm allergic to cats, I love them, and the friendliest cat kept me company and cuddled by me after a horrid day. Staff accommodated my early breakfast.
The narrow staircase was challenging to navigate my giant bag (even being an athlete) when leaving ultra early (staff helped me on arrival). The access to venue was troublesome. Floors uneven and plumbing is not great (hot and cold switched, pressure unbalanced and hot takes long) (I am a qualified plumber).

We stayed in Apartment 4 and also hired three double rooms.
Apartment 4 was absolutely great — two lovely rooms, a spacious lounge and kitchen, and lots of natural light. The parking was nice and close, which made things super convenient.
We also booked breakfast, which was included with both the apartment and the rooms. The food was delicious, and the staff really went the extra mile. On the morning of the wedding, one of the staff members noticed we were getting ready and kindly offered to bring coffee of our choice right to the room. They even offered to serve breakfast in the room, all with big smiles and the best attitude — honestly, such lovely service!
The three double rooms were not quite as comfortable for us. The stairs leading up were very steep, and the thatch roofs made the rooms quite dark. To be fair, the stairs were mentioned in the information, so that’s on me — but still worth noting for anyone who might find stairs a challenge.
Overall, the staff were amazing, the service was excellent, and Apartment 4 was fantastic. I’d definitely stay here again, just maybe skip the upstairs rooms next time.

The most beautiful setting, authentic Cape buildings with exquisite decor and landscaping. The restaurant and food were excellent with farm to table and beautiful wines. The coffee was excellent and the staff warm, welcoming and friendly.
There were a few plumbing issues

Room full of character in a charming old estate, perfectly renovated. Ideal for familes with its gardens and tranquillity. Rich breakfast skilfully cooked (it takes time to prepare it but it’s worth the wait). Excellent value.

Accommodation nice and clean except for the dead roses on arrival. Grounds well maintained and secure. The breakfast was very lovely, chef very accommodating and waitress attentive.
No reception even though we arrived in allocated time to check in. Restaurant closes before check-in time. No other facilities or snacks/platters/ wine to buy on premises. The special carnival area were shut which are not mentioned on the booking.com website. So two extremely disappointed children.

This has to be one of the highlights to my trip to South Africa (and I've been to kruger park, so I really mean it). This place is beautiful and the images don't do it justice, you just can't see the tranquil environment and the size of this, the vineyards surrounding, the mountains, it's truly a gifted land. The bedroom is quite sizeable and the bed is very comfy. The breakfast was delightful and the wine tasting was worth it (mainly because of the shiraz). Staff was kind and caring. Would certainly go back and have already recommnded them to many of my friends, this is a true bargain, and if you are worrying because of the distance to the city, think again - I had no issues taking uber and bolt from here or even requesting delivery. Would have added extra days if I didn't have a fixed schedule.
Was not a surprise and I didn't mind much, but be mindful that the room I've booked does have steep stairs. Also I feel the heating of the room during cold season might not be so effective as it is an AC (with heating option), so take that in mind. The wine tasting didn't have the macarons they were always out of stock.

The location and the grounds of the estate. The staff were so helpful and friendly. The security that showed us to our unit. Think his surname is Stuurman. Loved the cottage and the dining area. Beautiful. The outdoor space and braai looked lovely
The shower floor was very slippery and a bit mouldy. The towels were clean but old with stains as were the pillows in the children’s room.

The cleaning staff basically kicked us out. We were still packing the car and the ladies were very eager to begin their work.

I liked that it was clean and quiet, it was a very peaceful stay. A special mention to the gate guard, the property security and the manger who takes the call request. All 3 were incredibly friendly, helpful and accommodating.
The rooms that are cleaned without notice. If there was an option to skip room service for a short stay I would have preferred. I had no idea the cleaning staff would come to my room in the afternoon I was away and while I felt safe and trusted the staff, it was a very uneasy experience knowing your personals have been dealt with while you were away unknowingly.
The spare key always also left in my door and the door unlocked when I returned late at night with many valuables in the room.
I had to return 2 keys when I checked out after a 2 night stay.
