Simply perfect!

What not to love?! This is an amazing small property located very nicely in a quiet surrounding that matches the local decor and its natural surrounding. The stay felt very peaceful, relaxing and comfortable. The 2 pools are very comfortable offering nice views and relaxing sun bedding and enough space in the shade. The breakfast was very nice and the service was very personal and attentive. The pantry that is available during the stay offers the opportunity to purchase drinks and snacks and coffee and tea are available free-of-charge. Even though everything above was perfect, the best part was our room! Very spacious, light, modern and convenient. Cleanliness (including stay over service) was impeccable and the amenities provided in the room are very convenient. Our terrace offered a relaxing opportunity to enjoy a drink and reflect on the day! Service from all team members we met was professional but above all personal - which made this one of our favourite stays ever! Thanks!

Beautiful property, everything you need for Stellenbosch

The swimming pools were stunning. Breakfast is homemade and with fresh ingredients, very tasty. Location close to city to go out and about for wineries and dinner (with your own car or with taxi). Interior design of rooms and manor also very stylish.

Rooms were a bit noisy (could hear the neighbour snore) and wifi was very slow.

Beautiful location in a stunning and peaceful environment.

The property is set it a very quiet location on the outskirts of Stellenbosch. The hotel grounds have vineyards and large gardens. The gardens are immaculately kept and full of beautiful flowers, plants and trees. The property has quite a small capacity which makes it feel uncrowded and peaceful. Staff were great and the daily breakfast was excellent. The property has two great pool areas. There is also an honesty bar which features wine from the hotel vineyard. The hotel location is good for some nearby vineyards and central Stellenbosch is a short drive away. Uber is easy to use in the area and we never had to wait long for one.

Excellent experience! We stayed in a one-bedroom cottage and it was just perfect. Location is great, staff is very helpful and friendly, accomodation is beyond expectations. Highly recommend this place

Comfortable, relaxing stay in a beautiful setting

Beautiful setting. Very relaxing atmosphere and garden . We stayed in a spacious cottage with a great bathroom, swimming pool close by.

For longer stays, the cottage could have used some more cupboard space etc . Breakfast was very standard .

The views! The pools! The breakfast! The rooms! Beautiful Place!!!

Gorgeous views, room, and property. The photos/description don’t do this place justice. It was a delightful surprise arriving to Sugarbird Manor and everything was better than we expected/imagined! This was a good location for us as it was private but close enough (10-15 mins drive) to Stellenbosch for activities and food. The breakfast served each morning was wonderful. We enjoyed the pools and our time spent here. Would highly recommend and stay again.

Though there was a disclaimer about laundry stating they were not responsible for discoloration or shrinking, I was surprised that discoloring happened. A few items were completely discolored like the color was stripped from the items and they aged 2 years in the wash. I wouldn’t recommend doing laundry here which is unfortunate as I would expect a place like Sugarbird Manor to be able to do laundry without ruining items. That being said, this did not affect how we felt about our wonderful stay- just wouldn’t recommend doing laundry here.

The best welcome to South Africa!

Standard double room was perfect in size, bigger than usual. View on the pool and valley was just stunning. Pool was shared with only a couple of guests, so privacy was great. The gym is well-equipped. Breakfast is delicious. Very warm and welcoming staff.

Sugarbird Manor far exceeded our expectations-comfortable bed, gorgeous location, delish breakfast

Our room at Sugarbird Manor was huge - we had a sitting area, plenty of space for luggage and unpacking and the bathroom was very large as well with a beautiful tub. The view from our room was more beautiful than the photo. We absolutely loved our stay here. The bed was soooo comfortable! The hotel was away from town - so quiet - but not so far away from downtown and nice restaurants. Sugarbird provides an honor bar - and a large refrigerator that we put a few items in. That was really convenient. Our accommodation included breakfast that were so delicious. The location included parking. Was close to all of the wineries we wanted to visit in Stellenbosch. This accommodation far exceeded our expectations!

There were two peacocks that stayed around the property. They woke me up every night - many nights several times a night I’d awaken to their screeches.

Beautiful views and lovely hotel. Nice and tasty breakfast. Great staff in the breakfast area, and the warm welcome by the receptionist.

It would be better to include yogurt, fruit and granola as a self-service rather than having to choose between that and the hot breakfast. The hot breakfast on its own was very good, but the special could leave you a little hungry. Humidity was high in the room, with damp windows, maybe install an air extractor for the shower.

Pleasant but I was a little disappointed in the cottage.

The cottage was nice and big. Maybe a little too big for two people.

The main bed is a little hard. Sad that there was no bath in such a massive bathroom. I felt our cottage did not have the beautiful view that was in the picture. Netflix doesn’t work because WiFi was very slow.

A stunning hillside location with views over Stellenbosch. A wonderful patio where you can enjoy excellent breakfast in the morning sun. Incredibly delicious homemade toast! Beautiful vineyard retreat.

Beautiful location - out of town so you can enjoy the countryside with gorgeous views of the vineyards and the mountains. But close enough to town to go out for dinner (it’s a 10 min uber ride and they’re cheap and readily available). It’s also close to lots of great wine farms and you can also uber to them. Breakfast is yummy too. Perfect spot to stay to enjoy the wine farms. And a gorgeous little ginger cat called Nacho X

I had a fantastic stay, From the moment I arrived, the hospitality was top-notch—the staff was warm, welcoming, and always ready to assist with a smile. The room was spacious, impeccably clean, and beautifully designed for comfort. The bed was incredibly cozy, ensuring a restful sleep. Plus, the view from my window was breathtaking! The breakfast was another highlight of my stay. There was a wide variety of fresh and delicious options, from pastries and fruits to hot dishes made to perfection. The quality and taste were exceptional!
