Great place, great location great hosts

Our 10yr old daughter loved staying on a boat ! Only 2 rooms but fine for a night away. Great location 15 min walk to centre of beautiful Ghent. Host was very helpful. Breakfast was plentiful and enjoyable .

Perfect and unique accommodation- close to everything.

Absolutely fabulous place to stay on the river in the heart of Ghent. Only an easy 15 min walk to old centre. We had never stayed on a river barge so it was a great experience. Beautifully set up. Warm and cosy. Fantastic comfortable bed. Great shower. Coffee machine. Everything we needed. And wow the breakfast left at the front door each morning is amazing. It’s a river barge so yes there are steep stairs but that’s all part of the fun. Highly recommend for a great centre to explore. Only 3.3km to train station. Free parking with easy instructions. Loved it and thank you. J & J

Wonderfull place to sleep in Gent

Nice cozy place to sleep while staying at Gent. It was near the city center but away enaugh from the noise. The boat staff received us just in time for our arrival and showed us a map of the city and gave us some basic instructions. They also asked us the time to get our breackfast and they were very quiet and punctual. The breackfast bascket was great. It had lot of things to eat, tasty!!! The bed was great, there was enaugh space and we had hot water every time.

Nice and different B&B, good communication with the owner

The lot of space: nice sleeping area and sitting area, there was also a nice terrace, unfortunately we couldn’t enjoy it cause of rain weather

The mess on boat, not looking quite welcoming when you are bumping in to a vacuum cleaner and other mess by passing to your cabin

Our one night stopover was very comfortable on the boat and the breakfast was beautifully presented.

The boat was spacious, comfortable and provided a good base for exploring Ghent. The breakfast was left outside our door in a wicker hamper. The food was fresh and the coffee station was well stocked with capsules for the coffee maker.

Not something I didn’t like but needed to be aware of. The lighting in the kitchen area was not there so we used the lamp from the bedroom. The steps up and down from the wheelhouse to our cabin were steeper than expected.

It is just not worth it

Breakfast was quite delicious. The room is equipped with a fridge, kettle and coffeemachine.

The shower is awful. It is very near the toilet without any curtain. Moreover, there is no door from the sleeping room to the bathroom. Moreover, the water temperature was very unstable, it was really hard to get hot water. I didn't have much expectations from a boat, but this property was still beyond my expectations. Also the stairs are rather hard and dangerous. I didn't feel any benefits from being on a boat, but there are a lot of uncomfortable things there.

Superb

We stayed in the captains room with a toddler. The boat was a unique property. It was clean, and the room was spacious, with a separate area for the sofa and tv. We had asked to use the travel cot, but unfortunately when we arrived it was broken. So the staff went out to buy a brand new one. Breakfast arrived in a cute basket and had bread, cheese, meat, fruit and spreads.

It was a 20 minute walk from the town. but this wasn’t a problem.

Boat Hotel

Breakfast was nice, a basket of bread fruit meat and cheese with some juices.

Said 10 mins to the centre walking, we are all fit and it took 22 mins walking through some not so nice streets to get to the centre. The shower and toilet are 1 room which was rusty and when you have a shower the toilet gets wet and so does the floor. Access to the room is through the old bridge room and is steep with your luggage my friend slipped and hurt his knee.

a lovely stay that we will do again

we've liked everything the location was good - within reasonable walking distance of the center parking for free on the spot nice rooms with facilities like to make your own coffee and tea a small cooking ring which we didn't use a fridge the owners who were friendly and helpfull a lovely and big breakfast in the morning

there's nothing not to like you've only have to keep in mind you're on a boat and space to move limited but other than that it all went fine

Planned to have a relaxing time, but didn't get the desired effect

It's a special setting to sleep on a boat for a change. Free parking, breakfast delivered in time.

Room not available at check-in time, cleanness in general could be better, constant knocking of water or something else against the boat doesn't hinder during daytime, but at night it's just annoying and it's hard to fall asleep and wakes you up frequently during the night if you're a light sleeper. We only slept 2 or 3 hours, so we left more tired than we arrived. Toilet and shower are in the same space - not a fan of this and didn't shower.

Interesting to stay one night in a boat:)

We stayed in the captain's cabins. Unfortunately, it was too early in the year, so it was too cold to sit outside on the deck. Stay there one night in May-June instead :)

Hartje Gent, enkele minuten lopen van het gezellige centrum, ligt De Boot.

Geweldig uitzicht vanaf de boot! Op enkele minuten loopafstand van het oude en gezellige centrum van Gent. Hartje Gent, enkele minuten lopen van het gezellige centrum, ligt De Boot. Ovalen bed, douche en toilet, televisie, WiFi en een koelkast in de living en niet te vergeten.... Lekkere zit op het voordek met drie stoelen. Op het voordek, daar kun je lekker genieten van een glas bubbels terwijl kleine bootjes langs varen en je hoog boven het water dobbert. Echt een aanrader in vlak naast het oude centrum van Gent.

A kulcs egy telefonhívás során került átadásra. Elmagyarázták hogy jutunk a kabinba. A zár nem volt komoly szerkezet egy sima 8-as kulcs :-) Lakóhajó. Nem lehet más szállással csak úgy összehasonlítani. A WC papír tud probléma lenni, egy darab volt csak, érdemes egyet magunkkal hozni. A mi kabinunk a túloldalon volt, ami azt jelenti minden bőrönddel fel a kapitányi "hídra" a kormány keréknél, majd le a túloldalon, hátra és be. Kicsit macerás de aki csak hátizsákkal jön nem probléma :-) WC-ben figyelni kell csak WC papír dobható be, az öblítési rendszer egyedi. Ha eldugul 100 EUR van kiírva, de ha betartjuk a szabályokat nem lesz gond. Az ablakokat le kell húzni, engedni, mint a vonatokon régen. Egy szíjjal lehet "megállítani" mennyire engedjük le. A célnak megfelel. A csap sajnos elforgott, de használható volt. A nappaliban lévő konyhában van csak csap. Illetve a belső szobában volt mosdó. Klíma is van, mi nem sokat használtuk, a kereszthuzat jobb volt. Viszont éjjel végig kell gondolni, nehogy valaki "beugorjon" az ablakon a hajókabinba :-) A reggeli egy kosár volt, zsemle, croissant, vaj méz, nutella tasakok valamint fejenként 1 sajt, 1 felvágott. A célnak megfelel, nem itt kell dőzsölni. Egy privát parkoló van azaz kabinonként 1. Kicsit macerás, hogy a kerékpárútra kicsit hátrébbról visszahajtva érhető el. Rengeteg a kerékpáros, türelem. Az utcán is van parkoló de az fizetős. A hajó inkább uszály jelleg, nem fog himbálózni, meg se mozdul :-) Szerintem egyszer érdemes kipróbálni. A szállás ár-érték viszonylatban kedvező. A duplaágy mellett egy kanapé van, amit ki lehet nyitni, nem rossz a minősége. Pár éjszakára OK. Van egy mini asztal is ki lehet ülni a csatornát nézni. Van egy mini hűtő is még jegese is van. Gent nagyon szép, mi Brüsszelbe is innen mentünk.
