A pleasant stay in Blois

I had a pleasant stay at Ibis Blois. The room was very minimalistic — no wardrobe or safe, just the basics — but everything was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was really good (self-service), and the location is excellent. Overall, a simple hotel with everything you need for a short stay.

Good city centre hotel.

Very good city centre location, with public (paid) parking just a few minutes walk away. Characterful building with period features. Helpful staff. Breakfast was good for a hotel of this type.

The shower was ok - no better than that. Some traffic noise, but normal for a city centre location.

I spent 4 nights there and found the location perfect for sightseeing locally and accessing the train station.

The authenticity of the building, built originally as a hotel in the early 20th century, and now updated. The buffet breakfast was wonderful, with plenty of choices, including many local producers of cheese, yoghurt, bread and pastries. It was pleasure to use the beautiful elevator, an original mechanical marvel of engineering. The location is excellent for seeing and accessing all the local sights and restaurants.

The lobby layout/design seemed a bit haphazard to me on arrival but the friendly helpful staff made my check experience a very good one. The whole area works well as a pleasant waiting place with a back lounge and casual bar cafe for sitting.

Generally the hotel was good. It was well located but we only used it as a stopover - a longer stay would be needed to explore Blois.

The buffet breakfast was the usual Ibis affair - plenty for most tastes. We did notice a few ants which is unusual for Ibis.
