I had a suite and it felt like it was tastefully decorated based on classic French movie theme. Ideal location in the old town centre with stunning scenery.

Exceptional Stay – A True Provençal Treasure!

We cannot speak highly enough of La Maison du Frêne - it is truly one of the most beautiful and memorable places we’ve ever stayed. From the moment we arrived, we were enchanted by the elegance, character and warmth of this extraordinary home. The interiors are a stunning blend of classic French charm and artistic flair, with our La Chapelle room thoughtfully curated and full of personality. Our room was spacious, immaculately clean and incredibly comfortable, with lovely touches that made us feel both pampered and at home. We loved the santons de provence that decorated our room. The location is perfect - right in the heart of Vence, just steps from the historic centre, yet peaceful and serene. Breakfasts were a delight, served with care and featuring fresh, local ingredients. We really enjoyed chatting to our hosts. What truly sets this place apart is the hospitality. The hosts are gracious, welcoming, and full of wonderful recommendations that helped us make the most of our time in the region. It's definitely worth visiting La Chapelle designed by Matisse. If you're looking for a place that combines style, comfort and genuine Provençal charm, La Maison du Frêne is an absolute gem. We can’t wait to return!

An amazing place to stay for a few days. See the Foundation and chapel Matisse designed.

Good position within walking distance to shops and restaurants. The property is wonderfully full of art works and objects collected by the owners. Our suite was large, we loved the bedroom / sitting room and separate large bathroom with a great shower. We appreciated the water left in the fridge. The decoration was gorgeous….. a great place to stay. The breakfast was good and the owners were friendly and helpful…..

Climbing the stairs to the third floor…. but you do see lots of interesting art on the way !

Loved the separate sitting room area in the rooms. Really enjoyed the art displayed both in the room and public areas. Breakfast is served by the owner in a fanatsic room full of more art - good breakfast with perfectly ripe fresh fruits. Plenty of places to eat nearby. Owners made some great recommendations for places to visit so we got the best from our stay. The highlight was visiting the Matisse Chapel in Vance (in the morning) to catch the best light.

Fantastic place with fantastic people

Amazing stay. The rooms are spacious and very well equipped, very clean and cleaned every day, the decor is very original which is cool, and the customer service is more than fantastic. Thierry, Antoine and Guy have been amazing, guiding us through the area every morning to make sure our stay was as perfect as possible. There is parking nearby which was important for us. Overall, an absolutely perfect stay which we highly recommend!

Perfect stay in a very special B&B

The B&B is worth a travel itself! With attention to detail and with love every suite has been decorated individually. The hosts are not letting faith decide over anything and Guy and Antoine are very attentive and welcoming! With tips what to do, Guy made our stay even better than we usually had planned. The B&B has a perfect location, right in the heart of the old town of Vence with restaurants, bars and shops just a step outside the house. Parking is nearby and within short walking distance. We can only recommend this lovely place and will definitely come back!

Wonderful artsy hotel in heart of Vence

This place is an art-centric gem in the heart of historic Vence. Loved the atmosphere, the amazing croissants for breakfast, and the large comfortable and tastefully appointed rooms. Location is outstanding- literally steps from the old city and the main square with great shops and restaurants nearby. The owners/proprietors - Thierry and Antoinne were always available, helpful with great suggestions about restaurants, places to visit, transport, etc. The shower was strong (dual heads), Fragonard toiletries provided, and a dressing area to hang things (plus a safe and small fridge - though no coffee machine, although a kettle plus instant coffee). Living area with large chaise to sit on and plan your day (or recharge). Charging cube to plug in your electronics / cables.

Nothing at all. Just be prepared to climb a few stairs with your bags.

Such a great place that I extended our stay twice.

Fantastic location to explore the town of Vence, surrounding areas and the french coast. Very spacious and comfortable room. Great french breakfast with very attentive staff, who gives excellent recommendations to discover the local area. Very cool interior design throughout the hotel.

This was undoubtedly the best bed I have ever slept in. The mattress was simply superb and the sheets were that beautiful percale, ironed, of my childhood. There was a real wool blanket! Perfect for the season I’d like all the synthetic stuff That makes you sweat all night. The decor has been written up elsewhere, but it is wonderful and original

Exquisite boutique art-hotel in Vence

First of all, the owners (Guy, Thierry, and Antoine) were superb, very attentive, pro-active in communicating before and during our stay, and always happy to meet with us. Our room, the Andy Warhol room, was superb; a beautifully appointed suite to relax. Breakfast was wonderful, freshly made. The location was great - easily walkable around the old town. It was easy to get around to St Paul de Vence by bus, and Thierry gave excellent recommendations of places to include on our itinerary.

Ein schönes Haus aus einer anderen Zeit. Eine Kunstgalerie mit Suiten mit dem Charme vergangener Zeiten und dennoch allem Komfort. Mit Feingefühl restaurierte Räume bei denen sogar das Quietschen der Eingangstür authentisch wirkt. Man hat Gebrauchsspuren der Jahrzehnte nicht übertüncht, sondern liebevoll restauriert und somit den Charme des Hauses erhalten. Ein liebevoll gedeckter Frühstückstisch mit schönen alten Porzelantassen und einer Bedienung durch einen aufmerksamen, netten Gastgeber. In zentraler Lage zum alten Ortskern von Vence, einem Künstlerdorf zu welchem die Maison du Frene die perfekte Symbiose ist. Das Haus ist einzigartig. Frankreich pur.
