The River Lodge

The river Lodge was one of the best places we have ever stayed. Dani was an excellent host and very helpful. I had a bad cold actually strep throat and he was helpful in arranging for a doctor‘s visit and my husband lost a crown and he made arrangements for a dentist. Our room was quite lovely, well appointed, and the bathroom was very modern and updated. Excellent shower and extremely comfortable bed. The room actually had a toaster, coffee maker, small heater, refrigerator, etc. Our breakfast was delicious and he was willing to cook eggs or anything else that we asked for. The grounds were impeccable, with many flowers and beautiful trees. There was a comfortable sitting area as well, by a fireplace, and although we did not use it while we were there, it was available to us. He gave us a good recommendation for a restaurant which we enjoyed. This is a wonderful place to stay and we highly recommend it.

We enjoyed our 3 day stay thanks Daniel! We stayed on the bungalow and we enjoyed its ambience and appreciated Daniel’s art and woodwork. We liked the general Facilities too including bbq, option to use main kitchen, and main lounge.

The property is situated 5 minutes from Ohakune so easy to get to for shops and restaurants. Also easy access to Mt Ruapehu for skiing.

Great host, lovely breakfast, comfortable rooms, cozy cabin with a fireplace and mountain views! The grounds are beautiful, and our little one enjoyed exploring it.
