About this lodge
Rangatira lodge is a large, warm, comfortable ski lodge in Ohakune that sleeps up to 40 people. With a huge living and dining area, large commercial kitchen and bunkrooms, it’s perfect for big groups, school groups, sports and tramping clubs, corporate team building, conferences, weddings, family birthdays or any other reason to get a group together.
Smaller groups are also welcome to enquire. We can hosts up to 15 people on a non exclusive basis (You may be sharing the lodge with members or other guests and pay a per person rate) Please send an enquiry for more information.
We have ski storage facilities and a huge drying room to dry your gear after a wet day in the outdoors.
For the evenings, there's a drinks fridge available for use and a sweet stereo system (but remember to be mindful of our neighbours!) You can also unwind in front of our gorgeous stone fireplace.
Need a pick me up to get you going in the morning? Our cafe style espresso machine will be your new best friend. BYO beans

NOTE: Under Kiwi bach tradition you are expected to: Leave the lodge tidy and do the dishes before you leave; Bring your own linen (towels, sheets, blankets, duvet or sleeping bag and tea towels);

A well appointed and generally quite clean ski lodge, perfect for our family Xmas getaway. It had all the things we needed for cooking and general merry-making.The sleeping area was very quiet and well separated from the living areas. The showers were excellent.The only reason for the 4 stars is that the bunk beds are a quite small and I found them a little uncomfortable, but serviceable enough.

Fabulous Lodge. Perfect for our large whānau, had everything we needed for our stay & more, games room was a hit for our kids of all ages, kept them all entertained. Couldn’t have asked for a better stay.

We love staying here! A big group of us go to Ohakune every year and we've finally found the perfect place to stay.We had about 4 families, so about 12 of us in total. Each family gets their own room, or in our case the kids were all together and the adults had their own rooms.There's a pool table and table tennis for the kids, a projector screen for movies, enough space for everyone to sit around comfortably and a massive kitchen.Host is great - very communicative and helpful. Location is perfect - walking distance to town and the carrot park.Only thing I would say is that I wish there was a sun umbrella. We really wanted to sit outside but there was no shade on the deck and it was too hot. But this is a ski lodge I suppose so not to be expected. Next time we will bring our own.Highly recommend!

Staying here in the summer was great, the weather was cool and there are lots of great hikes in the area. Kitchen area is large and suitable for feeding all occupants. Excellent seating arrangements and a walk in drying room for gear made this stay kne to remember. Lounge and theater room was great too.. the code to get in was initially provided by bookabach which was outdated. But the owners were quick to answer and give us the new code.. would stay there again :)
