The staff are very friendly and couldn’t do enough for us as we stayed here for a family event. Thank you to all team, especially the bar staff and cleaners.

Perhaps consider installing additional heaters in the larger rooms. Currently, the existing heaters are not sufficient for the size of the room.

Good choice for breakfast however the eggs would be better done to order. Reason, the fried eggs were sitting in oil and the yolks over time sitting under the warmers do carry on cooking as these are not being turned over fast enough. As whole it is a good breakfast. The room was brilliant. Comfy bed also good firm mattress. Bathroom was good with a good sized shower.

Staff not attentive,I sat with my partner watching druggies going into the toilet one carrying a roll of foil,people were walking in and straight out and trying the disabled toilet.Our room was for a disabled person I struggled with the sink because I’m 6’5 sink made for someone with a wheelchair and the bathroom was dirty and the accommodation was tired as was the pub.We had a carvery it was awful dry and empty veg dishes at 7.30 in the evening was pretty poor

We had breakfast on Boxing Day before leaving and everything was really good.

I have stayed quite a number of times when I'm in the area , Danielle & Lottie have exceptional customer care skills , even when the restaurant was busy , nothing was too much trouble for them & they always had a smile on their face no matter what. They always greeted me with a smile & always asked "Is there anything else I can get for you?" It was an absolute pleasure staying there & made my evening so much more enjoyable. I will always book here from now on when in the area

Despite several successful visits which I have booked for the family for the last few years, several times a year, this weekend visit on the 13th and 14th Dec was the opposite and was very disappointing and cast a shadow over the weekend. The actual Toby pubs main staff on site were very helpful when my Brother raised concerns, in particular the Manageress Louise. The location is still favourable as it near us and I have significant health issues so travel is an issue.

Our concerns have been summarised to fit in this space, but, to quote my brother, the room was "disgusting" and he is not one to complain. The main issues related to poor or no housekeeping, e.g. missing towels and toiletries, and health concerns over a lack of cleaning, namely, stains and mould in the room. No toiletries - there was only 1 empty bottle of shower gel in the shower. Insufficient towels were provided, which are a basic requirement in any room and especially family rooms. Grubby bathroom and main room - some wear and tear is expected but attached pictures show old ingrained stains. Not pleasant for anyone but 1 of my nephews has a history of respiratory issues. I can say that once the manageress was advised ,she found the housekeeping keys for the towels and went to the shop for toiletries. This must be beyond her job description and does not solve the problems due to the poor housekeeping services. It was obvious they had not cleaned the room, as required in between visitors, and not cleaned them to the required standards. Pictures below show black and brown mould in the shower which look long term and not safe in terms of expected hygiene and standards. After a 3 hour journey the least anyone can expect is a safe, clean and equipped shower. We booked, and paid, well in advance, but they were put in a room in the lower area rather that the upper rooms which have been fine on at least 15 previous visits. Overall, very disappointing, this has made us reconsider ever booking or recommending staying again, we would like some feedback on why the issues occurred and I am requesting a refund. Miserable surly staff on checking in , long journey , 2.50pm waiting on a disability room and on my stick to be told in no uncertain terms it’s NOT before 3… so we ate in carvery & had a fair bit refunded …food ok just slow service , breakfast is ok And nice choice of hot food but the included coffee was like dish water and tables basically non existent with kids running around to see Santa … no staff easily available or obvious tho some I think dressed as elves…

We have stayed often and always have a good experience.

We arrived late in the evening. The room was cold and the heat was off. I had warned staff of a late reply. I would have thought that if staff know a room is booked it would be a simple thing to turn on the radiator to give a ‘warm’ welcome to guests.

Breakfast was good. Location handy to M5 and easy bus into town.

First room 310 very clean and big. But noisy from 11pm till 1pm and early in morning. Asked to change room because of this. Moved to 102 next day where we had a good night's sleep.

For the price, it is a decent sized room and bed. The staff were very helpful and it's an easy check in and check out process.

The bathroom was was more of a wet room compared to the shower facilities shown in the photos and although I'm sure there were clean, the bedding and towels did have small stains on the them.

The pillows where broken up inside, they need replacing. Breakfast everyday was well overcooked. The fried eggs were hard, bacon, hash, pudding and sausage all cooked to death. Plum toms were chopped toms which should only be used for cooking not for breakfast.

As always well looked after by the staff.

The lighting in the rooms need sorting. Rooms are way too dark.

However the hot water was not working so I had to go to bed without a shower and leave without a shower in the morning I was told I’d get a partial refund or voucher but haven’t heard anything

The room was really cosy and quiet. The pub was welcoming and the breakfast delicious. They were having a boiler issue and they went above and beyond to compensate for the lack of hot water - we couldn't have asked for a more understanding team!

Easy to find, parking onsite. Room was big and perfect for our stay. Bar & restaurant on site. Very busy carvery for dinner. Close to supermarket & petrol station and lots of other shops across the road. Great service

All inclusive breakfast was very average and you have to pay for coffee & tea separately

We had a late check in and the staff were very accommodating. Room had plenty of space for bags and the bathroom was a good size.
