Beds were clean and fairly comfortable.
Room had most facilities needed.
The room was very shabby, there were marks on walls and carpet. Blinds in bathroom were broken.

I’ve spent two nights at The Regency,
i’ve really appreciated the staff, the receptionist Komal has been extremely nice to me providing with a spare heater since my room was cold.
The hotel is in a quiet street, close to restaurants and supermarkets.
I’d definitely come back in the future!
Thanks again Komal for your kindness :)
there wasn’t a lift and my room was on third floor.
Apart from that everything was great!

It was a fabulous bargain and great location .
We went to Abba and Queen by candlelight and location and Thai restraunt was great near by and great night life afterwards too !
No views …but in a city and no vegan oat milks in rooms like Wetherspoons ,but great price , and bathroom easy to soak floor , but everything else lovely .
Staff weren’t overly friendly unless you spoke to them ,but i guess busy and hardworking ,as it is in all hotels off this class !

The property was walking distance to the city centre.
The bedding and towels were clean.
The whole property from communal areas down to the room and bathroom were very unhygienic. Blood splodges on the stairs, pubic hair in the shower tray, dirty toilet pan!! Dust everywhere.

The staff we met on arrival were friendly, but as we were walking up the stairs we were wondering what on earth kind of place this was. It didn't seem very appealing. Once in the room that changed. It was clean and bright with comfy beds. The window could be opened not too much, not too little and overnight it was quiet even at the weekend - earlier in the evenings it can seem like party central. There is also a great pub / place to eat just across the road. Don't expect 5 or even 4 star luxury for this price, but we would definitely stay here again.
We couldn't get the TV to work (something to do with the internet), which could have been a problem if we were short of other entertainment.
The heated towel rail in the shower room didn't work but the radiator in the bedroom did.
The management said they had just taken over and were getting round to all these things. They didn't manage either of them in the 3 days we were there.

How close to the shops and the fact you didn't need to worry about cards to get in your room. Bedding was clean and parking was great for price.
Bathroom very narrow and only 1 handle to close glass shower. the bed felt lumpy the carpet didn't look very clean on arrival and even with the window shut I woke shivering in the early mornings/night

Not much
Windows have blocks screwed in so they don’t shut, which is ridiculous and freezing in January! The radiator didn’t work. The hot water actually ran out during a shower as though it was 1985. Carpets are filthy and stained. There were bags of litter and used takeaway boxes outside one of the rooms for the entire weekend. Staff were non-existent and we were charged £10 per night to use a parking space. Avoid this place like the plague!

the bed hadnt been changed since the previous guests! There were used towels and bath mats on the bathroom floor

Location and easy access
The bathroom shower was broken, lighting was too deem for my liking, not enough towels, no one to ask for thing at the desk. The bed was the worst which was squeaking as if it was broken or breaking every turn one did. It was the loudest bed an adult or a couple could use. We felt very uncomfortable

The location is the only thing that is okay, it needs a full refurbishment and really smells throughout the building. My room smelt too strong to sleep at all.
As above
The hotel needs a full refurbishment and really smells throughout the building. My room smelt too strong to sleep at all. It is dated and immensely tired

Nothing just the area the location was in thst was the only thing positive about that place.
The venue was dirty, I had people, residents attempting to break into my room trying the lock and trying to pick it. I reported my concerns and they were dismissed as frivolous when the were authentic. Also the curtains bedding and carpets were dirty grimey and the maintainace person running around the building after hours paticipating in drunken behaviour. I wanted my money back as far as service goes i feel let down disappointed and swindled!

It was a great location- that was about it!
The room was very rundown and not the cleanest. There were stains on the carpet all over the properly and hairs on the shower. We also had a surprise when staff let themselves into our room as we were changing and tried to barge through the door - thankfully we had left the deadbolt on while we slept so no one could enter. They tried to say the room was double booked to excuse this.

It was terrible, we didnt even stay the night.
I would give this hotel zero stars if I could. The hygiene standards are non-existent; the carpet was visibly filthy, and we found used chewing gum and actual rubbish left on the floor from previous guests. It clearly had not been vacuumed or even checked before our arrival.
The customer service was even worse. After complaining about the disgusting conditions, we were promised a full refund by the manager. I even have a message from confirming this, along with several pictures of the room's state, but they still refuse to honor the agreement. This is blatant dishonesty and a complete lack of professionalism. It is impossible to deal with any of the customer service team as they only reply using template emails and supervisors will not speak with guests. Do yourself a favor and stay literally anywhere else.

Nice lady on front desk tried to iron out the mess we were in with the archaic on line check in system. Thanks Komal you made the OYO nightmare a little more bearable!
Everything was bad.
Awful online check in system full of glitches that wanted all sorts of intrusive information and an uploaded passport photo. Then didn't give us the right codes anyway.
Room was cold dirty and noisy.
Loads of stairs. No lift.
Some sockets didn't work.
Noise.
Expensive for what it was.
We got up and left in the early hours just to be shot of the place.
Waste of a hundred quid.

Location
Very dirty carpets, unvaccuumed. Beds old and could feel the springs. Sheets seemed to be clean as did the shower. No toilet paper. I had to search for a spare roll on every floor.

Cheap
All comms were done digitally, including checking in..it would be rated better if our code given for the room were working
Not clean at all, dirty toilet
No extractor fan in the toilet, not good for cold weather when you have to open the windows
Room heating was poor
No parking

We booked a 3 bed room for three adults and wasn’t given the room we booked resulting in having to share a bed and they refused to give us another room.

Was able to park
The room hadn’t been cleaned, everything stained and previous people’s rubbish all over the floor. No staff to be seen or contact
4.0 / 10.0
The location was good.
The room smelt of cigarettes. There was only a small bit of toilet paper left on the one roll provided. The bed was uneven and the duvet was too thin - I woke up cold in the night and there was no spare. The customer service rep I spoke to on the phone was unfriendly and impatient. Parking was charged for at £10/night even though the listing implied it was included.

Old school looking building
Room very dated covered in dust window did not shut so was freezing cold it was that bad we must we may as well have slept outside. It would’ve been warmer. I had a free upgrade to a deluxe double which was skipped over and we were put straight into a deluxe family room. No if that’s what they call a superior room I dread to think what the standard rooms are like and then on arrival we were asked by the receptionist if she could fill out the Google review for the hotel rather than the guest to let themselves the place you reminded me of Fawlty Towers without the entertainment

Absolutely awful. Disgusting carpets. Bed not made. Room hot and smelly. No staff. Dirty and past it. Amazed it passes health and safety.
Chosen for location. Absolutely disgusting..
Everything. I'm reporting to the council fire and environmental health.

Big bath, comfy beds, lovely Komal at reception
Access codes are provided when you check in online, important because reception is not always manned.
Lots of stairs - but I was expecting that.

Location was good. We had clean sheets & towels (once we requested them).
The room was filthy. The walls, carpets, shower, bathroom and furniture were all dirty. The stairwells were filthy too.
The room pictures displayed on their listings of bright, clean & fresh rooms are completely misleading.

Location.
Complicated code access and no staff meant several customers could not get into the hotel and could not access their rooms at 8pm. Very poor. Would positively recommend to avoid.
