Hidden gem - would stay here again

- I absolutely loved the pool - such a beautiful view over the river/valley, and it even has a little swim-up cocktail bar. - All the staff were also absolutely lovely - Breakfast was a la carte and delicious - Bed was comfortable and the (outdoor) bathroom was great

- There was a bit of mold in my room, but it didn't bother me much

Hotel was super but driving in Bali spoiled our experience.

We arrived about 3 hours after estimate d arrival time because roads to Ubud are atrocious and we made the mistake of hiring a car. The staff waited up for us and were very helpful and polite. Room was delightful.

Bit difficult to find but that was mainly due to atrocious roads in Bali!

Sensational.

I can’t recommend this hotel enough. The pool area is the absolute star of the show. A perfect place to relax from the hustle and bustle of Ubud and take in the landscape. My partner and I got the floating breakfast one morning and we were so glad we did. The food was delicious and eating it whilst looking out to the jungle was incredible. I highly recommend this! The rooms were spacious, comfortable and had everything you needed. If you had any quieres, you could contact reception using the phone in your room and the staff would help you immediately. All in all, this was a wonderful stay and I don’t think I would stay anywhere else in Ubud.

If I had to nit pick, I’d say it’s a liiiiiitle far out from the centre of ubud (a 15 minute walk - and walking from the hotel to the main road is pretty steep). I personally didn’t mind the location as there were plenty of other bars, restaurants, shops nearby but I’ll admit, it wasn’t as central as I thought it would be prior to booking.

Gorgeous location with stunning views from the pool.

The room was gorgeous including the shower. The pool was gorgeous and the views stunning.

The breakfasts were a bit hit and miss but overall still worth having. It is a bit of a walk down from the main road which didn’t bother us but would not suit less mobile people.

With the exception of the above bathroom issues we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Bucu Resort.

Room - was kept clean and tidy with good views of both the pool and the valley beyond Pool - was just perfect Breakfast - good variety of food. Dinner - an interesting menu with both Balinese and western options Staff - the staff without exception were always friendly and helpful

The bathroom in our room (the Dragonfly Suite) could do with some improvement. The shower mixer tap went from cold to scorching hot within 2mm's movement. As adults we could eventually find the right position for the water temperature. However, anybody with kids would be foolish to place them in the shower as the slightest movement of the mixer tap might result in quite sever burns to a child's skin. It should be repaired. The bathroom sink tap was loose and floppy and should be repaired. This was not the case with our daughter's room (Family suite on the ground floor) which she was extremely happy with.

Tropical paradise

The resort is situated in a tropical forest area and is near many amenities. The staff are very friendly, attentive and respectful.

This resort is quite a distance away from some of the major attractions. I was surprised that the traffic was heavy all the time.

My stay was so relaxing. The staff are super friendly. I even got extra Toast as you have to pick your breakfast from the menue.

You have to know there are in the "normal" rooms No extra bath room. Which was fine with me as I travelled alone.

Quiet and nice place. Rooms were clean and equipped with all basic facilities. Breakfast was really tasty.

Incredible boutique hotel near the centre of Ubud. Great views from the infinity pool looking over the rain forest. Calm and quiet and a short walk to bars and restaurants. Room was well equipped and spacious. Food and drinks from the restaurant were amazing as were the staff. Highly recommend

The room felt pretty dated. The ceiling needed a coat of paint. One down light literally sticky taped into the ceiling. Doors didn't fully seal so mozzies could get in if the air con wasn't on. Lighting in the outdoor bathroom pretty dim and hard to use the mirror.

Good location with great views, spacious rooms and wonderful staff.

We had 2 rooms on the ground floor each with 2 separate beds. The rooms were spacious with one having an indoor bathroom and the other with an outside bathroom both of which were spacious. The staff were wonderful.

I personally would like better/stronger lighting in both the bedroom area and the bathroom and please more wall hooks in bathrooms for hanging towels etc.

The pool saves this hotel, rooms dated and unclean

Amazing infinity pool with jungle views, central location within 20 min walking distance of monkey forest, rice fields, water temple, and restaurants/bars. Food and drinks were okay, the restaurant does have a nice view. Happy hour 2-5 everyday with 3 for 2 on cocktails. Staff were friendly and available 24/7. Its cheap for the location and pool but you get what you pay for with the room.

Rooms are very dated, particularly the bathrooms were were quite unclean. We found a worm in our shower. The toilet light being makes a really loud fan start rattling which seems broken. Our floor was never mopped and just walking from the shower to the bed ended with our feet being black and dirty again. The door was hard to lock and parts of the handle kept falling off. Sunloungers were also cheap and not comfortable.

The resort in natural setting

The nature surroundings, pool, garden, staff and restaurant setting. All was close to most touristic locations, but at the same time tucked away. I think we got some booking offer and it was great value. Breakfast was wide selection and abundant portion. Room was big and we liked the design. For sure had this damp earth smell which comes when it rains a lot and is hot. It was lovely to eat breakfast with that view and drink coctails at the amazing pool.

We joined the all you can eat bbq dinner with balinese dancers. The dinner was beautifully set at the garden and lamps on. The food itself lacked flavour - maybe because they think this is safest for tourist taste.

The pools are awesome. Staff is nice and great. They even held an item we forgot, and we successfully retrieved it via delivery.

Definitely a great view, not really a resort.

The resort is hidden away and feels like a nice and quiet escape from the loud streets of Ubud. The pool and landscape around are very beautiful and you can daily see cute squirrels, beautiful birds and even monkeys if you're lucky. The restaurant is also facing this beautiful jungle view.

There are some things that need maintenance as the shower started smelling a bit on day two and the AC was dripping. Also the door to the bathroom broke the first day, which they did fix quickly. The breakfast and food in general was the most disappointing part which can definitely be a problem if you plan to have your meals there. Meals were bland and looked nothing like the pictures in the menu. Also there was dirt on the salad leaves. The last meal we got seemed to be premade the day before since the egg was cold and rubbery. All mornings we were woken up before 9 by the chit chat of the staff outside our door (as they hang on the stairs waiting for rooms to get available for cleaning). So not really the ideal scenario if you just want to chill at the resort and take a full rest.

mold in the rooms caused heavy smell in the room. Air condition is old so it cleaned the room after 1 one day for 24h switching. Curtains were mostiure smelly so I suggest take down and wash regularly after a customer.

Location was amazing. Close to the Ubud centre and a 10 minute walk. Great room and staff were amazing.

Breakfast can be improved as it wasn’t the best and portions were small. Maybe have a buffet style breakfast. Pool could be a bit warmer.

Lovely stay, good food, friendly staff, just avoid the spa services

Beautiful pools, lovely little wooden house with comfortable bed and very nice shower/bath

We booked for a 1 hour massage at the local spa but the therepists stopped after about 40 minutes or so, when we complained to the management they said that they had never had a complaint... so best to go to the many loical enterprises just up the road who are generous and much less costly.

Incredible pools and surrounds, lovely and quiet atmosphere whilst also in the centre of ubud too!

The pool and gardens surrounding it was amazing, it was like you were in the middle of nowhere, while actually just a stones throw from the centre of ubud which made walking to find everything else very easy. It was lovely and clean and the included breakfast was basic but good. We had a massage there which was lovely, the therapists were great.

The rooms could do with a bit of a refresh, the doors were slightly tricky to shut and lock and could do with a new lick of paint etc but this didn’t really impact our stay whatsoever

Stunning resort in very good location.

The atmosphere and staff were amazing. The location was brilliant. Views from the pool and the food were also very good. It was very clean and our rooms got cleaned every morning when we went for breakfast which we loved. Staff couldn’t have been any nicer. Would highly recommend to anyone looking to stay in Ubud.

This hotel is a very nice place to relax while staying in Ubud. It is located in a quiet area and have amazing nature. Pool is great, breakfast is very nice. Stuff is good and rooms are fine ! Very good option for someone that wants to explore Ubud and near areas. Ubud center can be done by foot (monkey forest , market , eating etc) Recommended

Rooms need to be somehow updated, (not modernized) just with a simple restoration as they show traces of time imo. New paint , new silicon in the shower etc etc... the entrance road to the hotel is a bit strange (gravel with uphill) and some people may find difficulty to do it. For us was fine, but for a person with some disability it may be hard. Easy to reach by car or scooter though!
