Hawthorn Farm Guest House

The room was spacious, clean, comfortable and quiet. The breakfast was also excellent - real 'fresh' fruit in the fresh fruit salad and excellent 'Full English' breakfast. The landlord serving was also very informative about the history of the place. I also met his two dogs in the evening - a golden retriever and an English Setter, - both real characters and very big but very well behaved and as soft as butter. They made me feel welcome.

Only one comment - because I was staying in a room without self-catering facilities, it would have been nice to have an optional evening meal provided in the dinning room as well.

Friendly hosts. Breakfast very nice! Rooms clean and comfortable.

The hosts Paul & Sarah were amazing. Paul greeted us on arrival and explained everything we needed to know for our stay. The property is a 15 minute walk from Buxton centre. 2 Electric car charging points on site - guests would need the Monta app to pay for their charging. Our room was compact but had everything we needed for our overnight stay - comfortable double bed and lovely en-suite bathroom. Tea and Coffee making facilities, a couple of snacks and some toiletries provided were nice touches. Breakfast the following morning in the main house was excellent- all home made and the sausage and bacon sourced from local butcher / farmer. Massive choice of cereals, fruit, yoghurts also included. Nothing was too much trouble for Paul and Sarah who looked after us fantastically during our stay. Thank you.
