YHA Bath

What a beautiful house – it’s where the main hotel building is located! We stayed in the house at the back of the property; it’s a modern building in a convenient location with a lovely view. The house itself is well connected by public transport; there’s public on-street parking and bus stops nearby.

There were no shower towels or even hand towels in the room. The mattress was just foam, with no springs. We couldn’t open the window properly; we could only crack it open slightly. When we entered the room, it smelled of stale air from the bathroom.

Stayed in the top-most room. So quirky and cute! Loved the entire experience of being on the property.

Nothing I didn't like. We found the entire experience enjoyable.

Staff were lovely and super helpful. I arrived early and they could keep my bag somewhere safe while the room was readied The place is easy to get to - either a short bus ride which drops you off right on the doorstep, or a beautiful twenty minute walk through fields to the city of bath where you can see the entire city spread out beneath your feet from the panorama spot. Beds were comfy the room clean with a huge beautiful window a fan and two bathrooms which were clean too. A nice full body mirror is also in the room and light and sockets by each bed Even hooks are provided for hanging your clothes. The place has a wonderful wood wall and fun information for kids, and some games out the back in the garden It is also a well maintained old mansion with a great lounge tv indoor games area and bar. I loved staying here!!! Would always recommend YHA places!

That I couldn’t stay longer

Staff were welcoming and no-fuss. The common space was open 24/7 for drinks, lunch, or dinner, plus a bar serving beer round the clock. The room was spacious for six, and the English breakfast was tasty and good value, with kids only £1 extra.

We visited in summer during a hot spell and couldn't open the windows (blocked by some device), and the fan provided was low quality, with no up-down setting so it only blew vertically. It's a youth hostel, so no real complaints there, but the bunk beds, mattresses, and pillows were below par. I can sleep anywhere so it was fine for me, though it might not suit everyone's back.
