Great place, great staff.

Staff were great, very helpful when we asked to change rooms for a bigger bed. Breakfast was fantastic. The room was beautiful and very comfy.

The only thing that could have been better is the cleanliness in the shower especially.

Perfect location Steeped in history Friendly and helpful staff Delicious breakfast We stayed far away from the staircase so couldn’t hear any noise from pub downstairs Rustic interior Comfy pillows and bed

Couldn’t find car park at first and had to wait 10-20 mins for a space Locked out of room 10 mins before check out time, luckily the cleaner saw us coming out of the room earlier for breakfast so let us back in to quickly get our stuff

Rooms are spacious, warmly decorated and great location if heading into town or need a train station (2 options close by)

The door lock late evening, a code should be issued rather than the keycard which can be temperamental

Good for an overnight stop or town visit

The room, on the front of the hotel, was a good size and well-appointed, with a window seat overlooking the street; secondary glazing was effective in reducing sound from outside. Staff we encountered were pleasant and helpful. And there was space in the car park.

I really don't need to be woken up at 7.00am by a text saying how sorry they are to see us leave.

The Salisbury arms is very comfortable, warm and clean. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. We ate in the pub and the food was delicious. Can’t fault anything.

We had to be moved to a room that had windows that fully closed, it’s an old building. This was dealt with very well by the hotel and that’s a real strength.

Other hotels should take notes!

Room was exceptional, bed was large and comfortable, pillows were the best I've ever slept on! We had all the amenities we required, and more, such as robes. Beautifully decorated in keeping with the building - no boring, bland rooms here! We didn't have dinner in the pub/restaurant below, but did have desert and a few drinks - really great service and atmosphere. Great location, and just 15 minutes away from the M25 but feels like a different world.

Finding the car park was a little tricky, access road looks like it's one-way but isn't. Phoned the hotel who were quick to answer and confirm location.

It was warm and cosy. Lovely old, rambling building. Lots of excellent coffee shops nearby. Very helpful staff. Reception staff were happy to store our case when we arrived too early to check in.

Staircase to upper floor was a bit challenging for older guests. The striped carpet confused the eye. The spiral shape with minimal banisters was not great. However, the staff were helpful in carrying heavy suitcases up and later down the stairs.

Room was bijou so perfect for a night or two but bit two small for a night weeks stay unless you are the sole occupant.

There was no tv remote control in room but one was found for us. Milk not left in fridge, fridge didn’t seem cool. Milk had gone off & couldn’t be used Sugar cubes not wrapped, hygiene issue with that. £250 per night bit excessive

Fabulous, great value, incredible character property in the literal centre of Hertford with fabulous food, drink, rooms

Real character building. Brilliant staff. Outstanding pub. Outstanding food. Recently refurbished by the looks of it, so rooms are high standard and incredibly comfortable bed.

The walls weren’t the thickest so all I could hear was the two hours of “highly energetic romantic activities” going on next door with little left to the imagination. But I really can’t blame the hotel for that.

Breakfast service was not good. Staff seemed over worked, no one in control. Ridiculous wait for a table then service was just poor and did not reflect the rest of the stay.

Overall, very enjoyable as we were meeting up with friends.

Hotel is in an excellent location. Our room was very comfortable. Bathroom was huge and generally well equipped. Breakfast was good although the dining room was somewhat overcrowded with large furniture, making it difficult to reach the buffet. Car park was a bonus. Lots of public areas to sit in with friends.

Loud music in the bar made it hard to converse with friends. There was a lot of very rowdy behaviour going on until way after midnight. Then I was woken by loud conversation coming from the Reception area at 5.30am, so didn’t get much sleep. Perhaps we were just unlucky. Lots of dust gathering clutter in the room eg piles of old books, large plastic plants etc. Impossible to use bathroom mirror for make up as it was too far away and very poorly lit.
