Big room with a comfortable bed . Large bathroom as it was a disabled access one with nice smelling toiletries and plenty of towels. Lovely meal in an attractive restaurant . Chips and fries particularly good.

Loud hum from generator (?) And no view other than the grey machinery and a large canopy. Carpet needed cleaning but otherwise room clean.

Very pleasant hotel but sadly let down due to lack of double or secondary glazing to reduce noise

The room was nice, spacious, clean and well presented.

The mattress was relatively hard but the worst issue was the outside noise. The single glazed sash windows do not keep any noise out. As we were on the first floor on the street side we could clearly hear peoples conversations and worst still, the rubbish truck arrived very early morning and all you could hear for the best part of 30 mins was all the waste and glass being crushed!

Bright room and delicious breakfast

I booked this hotel while searching for accommodations in Hertford for a business trip. Since it wasn't easy to reserve five separate rooms for five people, I booked a mix of single and twin rooms and then made an inquiry. I received a very kind response saying they could convert a double room into a twin, which was extremely helpful. Thanks to that, we had a great 6-day, 5-night stay. The rooms were spacious and bright, which we appreciated. The beds were a bit small, but everything was always clean, and very classic. The hot water worked well and the water pressure was just right. Breakfast was excellent as well — the kind of delicious food you can't easily find in London. I would definitely choose this place again if I return to Hertford.

The single beds were a bit small, and although I stayed here for a business trip, the room setup was not suitable for working. However, this is completely understandable.

Great location, comfortable room

Paintwork needed touching up, quite expensive and breakfast was disappointing. You could only choose one thing, there was a £4 surcharge for the salmon dish if you were staying at the hotel (even though other dishes on the menu were more expensive) and afterwards I was still really hungry.

Stayed several times before. Excellent location, in relation to town centre and pub next door. Place is clean, comfortable and ‘different.

Pre - warned regarding noise from pub and bar downstairs. Did not cause any issues. Would be good if bedroom windows were double glazed as we could hear people talking outside.

Avoid this noisy hotel - over a point

In town center location

It was over a very noisy Pub with rowdy drinkers outside and loud music until 11pm - I stayed in room 209 at the front of the hotel avoid at all costs - during the night the smoke alarm and the side lamp and the fit fitting flashed for a milli second every 5 mins or so - constantly being kept awake I books for 2 nights but stayed for one one - it took the hotel 2 weeks to respond to my complaint and refused to refund the second night- avoid this hotel if you want to sleep peacefully- I would never stay they again

Discovered room had NO hot/warm water. Shower impossible & shave v. uncomfortable. Lift didn't work (for how long?) unhelpfull for a 1st floor disabled room & bathroom (that we hadn't asked for!) Change of ownership being badly handled as all pictures in bar/restaurant had been removed too

Welcoming and great choice

The staff were lovely and the rooms were excellent with quirky decor and very comfortable beds. Great location for one night and it was very dog friendly.

It was a bit noisy outside but this is made clear on the hotel website. As it was a Thursday night it wasn’t too late and didn’t disturb us.

Noisy but nice

The hotel is great in terms of location (although no parking) but parking all close by. The food - breakfast probably the best one I’ve had in a hotel and the wine is good too. The rooms were clean and comfy and has everything you need.

The noise. If youre sensitive to noise, sleep before 11.30/12pm and are planning a chilled evening in your room, unless you can drown out the noise with watching a film until midnight (what I did) this hotel wouldn’t be suitable. You feel as if you might as well be in a bar with the noise transfer from the pub attached and local bars/pubs.

The breakfast was the only thing I can honestly say was great, the room was old outdated and no fridge, the toilet was disgusting to see and should be removed immediately as nobody wants to see urine stained and calcified each time you go to the toilet.

The room needs a fridge, the toilet is old and disgusting for guest to see I would remove this asap if you dont want more complaints
