Sweet Inn with delightful staff.

The staff is incredibly kind and the breakfast was delicious.

My only issue was with one of the cleaning products, which had left the room with an odor. I am super sensitive, so I had to open the window and air it out.

Great little spot for a nearby wedding

Stayed for 1 night for a wedding nearby - easy parking, great location for the wedding at parklands, rooms comfy, good value for money - staff lovely and friendly in the lead up and when we stayed - breakfast was delicious - would definitely recommend

Check in was a little confusing when we first arrived as we couldn't find any staff to help but - once we did, they were very friendly and helpful

Check In went so well - welcomed by the manager . Dinner excellent. Room extremely comfortable. Location super. Breakfast - just what was required. All in all, with a dog with us, the stay was superb.

The heater in the bathroom was way too complicated and the water pressure in the shower is non-existant.

Upon arrival we were met with very friendly staff - helpful in every way. Dinner was superb - food choice extremely good and varied, quality of food was superb and service excellent. Breakfast was also great with excellent servcie, food and quality.

Cosy pub offering great food and accommodation

Beautiful cosy pub offering excellent food and a comfortable bed for the night. Easy parking, efficient service. Our room was clean, warm and cosy. Everything you need for a night stay. We ate in the pub. The food was excellent. Local fresh produce. A great choice of menu with an extensive wine list. The breakfast menu was excellent and made to order. Highly recommend this location for a preflight stop for Stansted airport.

A comfortable village pub for an overnight stay.

The pub is in a nice, quiet village setting. Dinner is available on-site and there is a good-sized menu. The room was comfortable and of a decent size: the bed was comfortable. A good breakfast included in the price of the stay was available.

Very pleasant, comfortable and certainly would stay again if I was in the area.

The breakfast was excellent. Great choices and cooked very well. The location was pleasant very country friendly. I would imagine it would be extremely pretty in the spring and summer.

The TV reception was not good at all. A number of the plug sockets were not working. Once I worked out how the heating worked it was good on a very cold evening. Maybe clearer instructions could be given.

I’d recommend a stay here.

We’ve stayed here before. It’s nice and quiet, tucked away on the edge of a village green on which cricket is played in the summer, hence the name. Very convenient for Stansted Airport. The three members of staff we saw during our stay were extremely friendly and helpful. They couldn’t have done more. The room was comfortable, and the breakfast was freshly cooked.

As it’s an old building there are inevitably some creaky floorboards and doors, and the stairs could do with recarpeting to make them quieter to use.

Lovely, comfortable room and just the right room temperature. Good lighting in the bathroom. Staff are always charming here (I've stayed several times earlier). Delicious breakfast, all freshly cooked.

Disappointed

It was clean and comfortable, the room was warm and spacious and well-equipped (apart from tea). Staff were very polite.

It was not published that the bar would shut before 9pm on a Sunday evening. We had driven for a number of hours and arrived just after 7pm to be told that the bar would not stay open. There were other guests in the bar who were also disappointed. We booked to stay in a country pub, we expected it to be open! The tea and coffee had not been replenished and so having been kicked out of the bar, we had to make a choice between 1 cup of tea in the evening or in the morning. Breakfast was good, but why cut a mushroom in half? I know times are tough but that was just ridiculous. The toiletries smelt absolutely divine, but not great for actual use, unless you want your hair to turn into straw.

Loved the Cricketers Arms

Alex, the Manager, is a personable and friendly guy. The breakfast was excellent and we wished we had arrived earlier on Sunday so that we could taste the afternoon food which, we were told, is very good. The bed was comfortable and the room very cosy.

Nothing that we disliked. Suggestion - amend the website to say that food is served until 4.30pm and, if possible, the Booking.com info. Some parts of the beautiful building are looking tired.
