Just the place we needed for this trip :)

Great straightforward communications for booking, location access etc :) Good price As described = comfy clean practical rooms. Good mattress & shower The two upper connected / individual rooms worked really well for us.

Would have been good know that there's no crockery or cutlery to use with fridge, kettle & microwave which are provided - as I'd have brought some! Decor is little worn/peeling in places but all good. Hairdryer didn't work! Hope it's replaced for next guests!

Weekend away

The rooms and bathroom were good for the price and tea and coffee and water were supplied. We jad a good stay and the bus stop was across the road .

The single bed was quite uncomfortable as mattress kept slipping off base. Would of liked a bedside cabinet. There were 2 properties near to each other and the one on booking.com was not the one I thought we were staying in.

Fantastic accommodation! Couldn’t recommend enough!

We booked this really last minute and it was amazing value for money. It was very clean, warm and comfortable. The room was really big and had a large en suite. You could not hear anyone else in other rooms besides people coming and going. We could not recommend enough, we were very happy with our stay. The check-in process was very straightforward and they contacted us beforehand to make sure we would be able to get in. They also provided some refreshments which was so thoughtful. Thanks again!

Lovely little stay!

The room was lovely, airy and great all round. The complimentary drinks were a bonus. There was a hair dryer, ironing board, fan etc.

Brilliant value for the money!

I liked the bath most mean swimming pool!! being 6ft4 i could nearly do a lap in this thing! It's huge it's worth booking up even if you live in colchester just have a proper good soaking then check out its that good!

I have to be honest and this is just because there's always room for improvement! But really the BATH! come on now! Oh and I forgot the bidet aswell! But the only thing I could find to improve on was the laminate flooring which with signs saying quiet times between 12 and 8 which isn't the exact times but something close to that you almost feel like staying on the bed between then hours because of the tapping when you walk if upstairs of course is a little loud and the beds could do with a little updating but apart from that nothing else to complain about

Clean, comfortable, easy walk from the station.

The bathroom light is very bright and comes on automatically, not great if you need the loo in the middle of the night. The shower door is not watertight.

Run down and neglected

The shower was good and it was good to have private parking

The owners said we was staying in room 1, so we went into there and it was a mess, but they got it mixed up and we were supposed to be staying in room 3 and we went into room but it was very run down and needed maintenance, it smelt strongly of dogs and bleach, to be honest the whole house did, the bed was small for 2 people but we survived 😉

Great accommodation

Perfectly compact little room. Had everything you would need. The bed was so comfortable. What a bonus having a microwave and fridge. That really helps when staying for a few days. Bathroom was great.

Stairs are really steep. Obviously it is an older house and I loved it, but some would struggle and would need to know this before booking unless they got the ground floor room.

Horrendous

Tiny room,we paid for the larger room. Filthy under the bed and floor, our dog was eating left over wrappers from under the bed. Horrendous noise when turning on the water or flushing the toilet. Extremely noisy, people arriving late in the evening and stomping around upstairs for hours. We only stayed the night as we had travelled from Scotland and it was too late to book in elsewhere. We found alternative accomodation for the next day.

Great value for money. Room was clean and comfortable. Considering how small the room is I was impressed with the amount of facilities available - kettle, tea/coffee, ironing board an iron, fridge etc. Check in details were very straight forward.

Tired and scruffy Superficially clean but look a little closer and not at all clean. Built up dirt around shower door and fixings and the like Very noisy with room fridge in a wooden shelf unit so I could only sleep with ear plugs Road noise is constant Room had been serviced (we were there two nights) but tea not replenished so not enough for two nights. One mug washed, one not. Exceptionally thin small towels Room 1 most bizarre layout. Lacking full sized sink in the bathroom, only a cloakroom sized sink. Cooking facilities (microwave) but no means of washing crockery Dark dingy bathroom Front door code appeared to have been changed on our last morning - Fortunately I remained in the room whilst my husband loaded the car, if I hadn’t we would have been locked out with half our possessions still in the room

Clean and cozy, good location

I stayed at the Railway Sleeper 3 or 4 times. The reason I come back every time when I'm in Colchester, are the facilities in the room, cleanliness, and location. The room is small, but there's a small folding table and folding chaiir to create working/ eating space. There's a microwave , a small fridge with complementary drinks, and plenty of coffee & tea.

A pleasant surprise, to find clean, spacious accommodation at a budget price!

Check in was really smooth, we received a code in the morning to the front door to let ourselves in. The room was really spacious and clean, it was a lovely surprise to find complimentary drinks in the fridge and tea, coffee, milk and biscuits. Bathroom was really spacious, it had a bath and separate shower unit which had 2 shower heads and jets! Would definitely stay again as was such good value for money.

Not a big problem but the car park spaces were on the small side, we blocked another car in because we have an estate car which is longer than the markings but was no problem moving our car at 10 am but might have been different if the owners of the blocked in car needed to get away early when we were still asleep.

I liked having a fridge and so nice to have some complimentary water. The bed was very comfortable.

The toilet seat kept coming off the hinge. It was more than 6 minutes walk from the station. A map would have been useful onyour web page. We aren't all savvy with phones!!
