Well, this one is tough to rate. First: We absolutely loved the location at the beach, the fantastic restaurant not only with a view on the ocean, but really great tasting dishes (well, it‘s French-owned, wie expected that ;-)) and an exeptionell staff, the vastness of our pool villa with the huge pool and the outdoor living room (it really felt like a ‚home‘). We would absolutely recommend anyone who can afford to have that experience on Lemongan.

But in our Indonesia trip 2026 that was the only place where we also have made bad experiences about the service. The „transport“ from the port to the hotel did not arrive and after being late >30min the driver made us rush through the streets while carrying bags around 25kg (inlcuding 2 little kids). But arriving at the reception, the recpetionists did not want to hear anything of that. „It is just a taxi driver“ „Sorry sir, not in our responsibility“. We refused to pay the driver and asked for a compensation for that horrible arrival experience. The receptionsists promised us to talk to the management and that they will get in touch with us. Well guess… that never happened. At checkout we stated again no one ever contacted us, they even wanted us to pay for the arrival transport. They just COMPLETELY ignored what we said and also were not interested when I said we are going to rate them and that we are „power travellers“ with many, many, many reviews (usually fantastic ones, because we are very picky in deciding where to stay). So finally they took out the arrival bill (200k IDR) but just continued ignoring („It‘s OK sir…“). No, it is definitely not OK treating your clients like that. We are not used to that, especially in Indonesia. To continue being critical: booking tours at the reception doesn‘t make any sense, because the receptionists (again) are not really good in talking English and cannot really give recommendations. You can pick anything from a „picture book“ but do not expect to get any advice. Lastely: the villa was stunning and we really loved to stay there. But in the details there can be improvements: the matresses are quiet hard, in the living room on the day bed the matress is very thin, a toilet didn‘t flush, etc… we probably would not even mention because the overall staying experience was really nice.
