Good location near the monkey forest and centre of ubud
Shower floor was extremely slippery.
The room didn't have and proper key, it was a padlock through the door handle.
The room didnt have windows or screens, only shutters with gaps to let bugs in.
Access to the room wasn't very well lit up, making the narrow steps a potential hazard.

Pool and staff were lovely. Was a great place to hole up and work. Large, expansive space makes you unaware of being right in the middle of busy Ubud. But it's right on your doorstep if needed.
Breakfast quite mediocre. Monkeys are annoying so can't have windows open, etc. There were a lot of noisy families and kids, who were also disrespectful to staff and others.

A little bit slippery in the wet. But we got used to it quickly.

The location is very good front at Monkey Forest Road, rear at Uma Bisma Road both ends many shops, massage, restaurants.
There are a lot of slippery uneven stairs and ramps to negotiate.
Also be aware walls around pool villas are low, you can see everything.

The room was very spacious.
The grounds are lovely and sprawling, with wild monkeys and lovely trees.
The pool was a good size, and enjoyable to relax in.
I was a little disappointed by the breakfast.

Great location. Rooms large and comfortable.
Could be a bit of a struggle for not so fit people with the uphill walks to restaurant and villas.

During and after rain very slippery on paths

This Hotel was literally like being in a Spa Retreat, The Pool was amazing, the staff were lovely and you also had the added bonus of feeling so zen and like you were in a jungle spa one minute and then the next you walk out the front reception and your in the heart of Ubud! :)
Such good location, Loads of restaurants and shops right outside the hotel and just up the road from the monkey forest however if you go out for breakfast early you can see all the monkeys causing mischief in the streets. :)

The best feature of Pertiwi was its location. With all the traffic in Ubud nowadays, being based in an oasis (and it was surprisingly quiet in the rooms) in the heart of Ubud reduced the stress of getting around, as everything was accessible on foot. We were able to easily meet up with tours and taxis. The rooms were spacious, and it was lovely to come back each day to see them cleaned and orderly.
Google had registered two Pertiwi hotels, so taxis would often take you to the wrong one. I'd suggest the resorts provide a point of differentiation and accurate addresses, as it can be a bit unnerving initially.

Location was great. Huge resort with access from either main road. Gardens were gorgeous with lovely views from up top at the restaurant. Staff were really lovely. Pool villa was absolutely wonderful. Nice resort pool too.
Quite a hilly resort so be prepared to walk up and down steep areas. Breakfast was adequate but no bells and whistles, no egg station but omelettes provided that were pre-made, no yoghurt or bacon etc but most basics and only sliced white bread which was very stale having been left in a warm oven.

Wonderful place for staying in Ubud. So comfortable - first time splurged on resort and so worth it.
Loved the breakfast - banana pancakes yum! Dinner really good - and not too heavy on pocket.
Wonderful location!
Room was at back side and we parked hired scooter at the back - very safe.
Great massage!
A perfect spot for a relaxing few days in Ubud - will definitely return if ever back in Ubud. Staff is simply brilliant and so respectful.
Enjoyed the common pool more than the private one - but good overall.

The location was amazing, the greenery of the entire resort was gorgeous and the main pool and pool in our villa was great! The staff were very helpful. The Villa was very secluded and peaceful.
Our Villa doors did have slight gaps so just make sure you wear mosquito spray, but they also provide curtains around your bed. Just something to keep in mind.

Months prior to our stay, I informed the resort, at the time of my booking, I was travelling with my 84 year old mother. We were allocated a villa that required us to use a lot of slippery very steep stairs to our accommodation. We were unable to use the resort facilities due to lack of access. We left the resort. At no time did the resort give us alternative villa options.
The resort made no effort to provide us with more suitable villa access. The resort reservation staff lack insight to guests needs.

It’s a little dated but good value for money.

Area is nice and the staff is friendly. Rooms are ok, and pluss for the outdoor bathtub.
The room had not been cleaned properly, im sure nobody has cleaned under the bed for atleast 1 year. I also found dirty laundry under the shoerack when i arrived.
On top of that I had a bad experience with a man (probably an employee) shining a flashlight into my room in the middle of the night and woke me up. I was traveling alone so that made me very uncomfortable.

Only the location in Ubud, but unfortunately, it was overshadowed by the terrible condition of the villa and the unsafe experience.
The WORST of the WORST hotel experiences my friends and I have ever had – stay FAR away from this place!
We booked the Two-Bedroom Villa (414 & 415) at Pertiwi Resort & Spa, Ubud, for 16–19 September 2025. From the start, the pathway from the lobby to the villa was long, slippery, and hazardous. The villa itself was in appalling condition: mold, dirty floors, dirty furniture, damp bedding with an odor, spider webs in the lamps, and even a disturbing clump of human hair in the wash area (with photographic evidence).
When we raised our concerns, the hotel offered us downgraded rooms. Even though we had paid for the villa, we were willing to accept them just to make it work. But when we checked, the downgraded rooms were equally unacceptable – smelling of chemicals and mold, with dirty floors marked by footprints. We refused and were told the villa would be cleaned again. We left immediately so the hotel could perform their promised “deep” cleaning.
That night, when we returned at 10 PM, we were shocked, as nothing had really changed. The bedding was still dirty, and when I lifted the blanket, I found LIVE BED BUGS crawling on the mattress (video evidence). Even the staff member who helped us with our luggage admitted that we could not stay there.
At 11 PM, in the rain, we had no choice but to check out and scramble to find another hotel at midnight. Four of us ended up sharing one bed because there were no vacancies nearby. The entire Ubud trip was ruined. To make matters worse, the hotel has failed to take accountability. They offered only a token “complimentary meal” (after we had already checked out) and vague promises of a refund. Since September 17, there has been no resolution, no concrete action, nothing. On September 22, we reminded them and gave 48 hours to confirm the refund process, but as of now, there has been no communication.
This was a nightmarish, traumatizing, unsafe, and disgracefully unprofessional experience.

Very comfortable bed.
worst breakfast ever encountered.
Cold potatoes, sausages veggies and pastries.
most dishes empty with little in and then they bring up more cold potatoes and just put them into the warmer. Hot food should already be hot before setting out on table.
Difficult walk from one end to the other on slippery steep path.
Shower takes a long time to heat up water and it should be a proper head that can be adjusted, or a dumper head from ceiling. You need to stand right against wall to get wet.

3.0 / 10.0
It’s a huge walk from the front of the property all the way to the rear of the property lots of stairs and steep hills. If you have a lot of luggage or you’re an older person this is not the place to stay. We were in rooms 135 and 137 which is all the way at the back of the resort They do have a back entrance, but if you don’t know that it’s a long walk and for people that are older, that’s definitely not the rooms for you to be staying in.
We had issues with the room upon checking in. There’s a huge gap about 4 inches in the the patio doors we did call someone they came and fixed it or there would’ve been mosquitoes in there all night long and the plug in the bathtub wasn’t working like it just filled up with water and there is no way for you to get it out, but they did go ahead and come back and they did repair both of those while we went out for dinner The breakfast buffet was OK again it’s a long walk on the resort to get to these things I did not feel that the beds were comfortable. I also had my iPhone charging cord removed from the room while I was at the spa. I traveled with my two adult kids my 15 year-old grandson. The three of them have android phones with my daughter and I left the room at 9:45 to go to a five hour spa treatment we had the charging cord was plugged in and when we came back after lunch about 6 1/2 hours later, it was gone from the room. I did call down to the front desk. They spoke with housekeeping and said nobody touched it, but I don’t know where else it could’ve been. My daughter took the room and tore it apart and made both of the beds pulled out everything from the suitcase, etc., and we couldn’t find it.

The location of Pertiwi was perfect for us as you could walk to everything, huge amount of bars, restaurants, cafe's and shops at your doorstep. We had a Villa that was located at the back of the property so the walk from the front at Monkey Forest Road was steep and long, not for the elderly or people with mobility issues, but there is also a back entrance on another road Jl Bisma which was flat, there are also hotel rooms at the front of the property. The Villa was big, had a great pool and excellent strong shower, we loved our stay and would stay again.
The breakfast was basic and cold, so we ate on our first morning and then went out every day after, maybe don't include breakfast.

The property is gorgeous and well-maintained. Clean suites and a great location. The private pool suites, however, need to be refreshed. The pool has many loose tiles. The outdoor furniture needs cushions. The bathroom and shower and tub need serious work. This was our second stay in 1 year!
The private pool suites, however, need to be refreshed. The pool has many loose tiles. The outdoor furniture needs cushions. The bathroom and shower and tub need serious work. Our private pool wasn’t so private at all!!! Their maintenance had removed the long privacy wall fence because it was old and falling apart, but they never replaced it. So, I could see the guests swimming nude in front of my suite, and of course they could see me too 😞This was our second stay in 1 year!

We stay here every year , love the location , the staff and the variety of rooms . There is a Huge difference between a “ standard room “, vs , a room that on the interior of resort , vs a villa with a pool , so choose what is right for you !

They only now have one Pool and it’s a big walk from the front of the property to the back and very very steep. Anybody with mobility problems should not stay there

It was quiet and the location was good as long as you are at the back of the property. Front section has some very steep areas to walk .
Kitchens in the villa a little run down and monitored fridge. Lounge area had nil cushions.

Location but beware it has mouses in the room plus it's very dirty. Read other reviews about mouses and dirty. Please avoid this place
We booked Pertiwi Resort & Spa for our honeymoon, expecting a relaxing and luxurious stay in a private villa with a pool. Unfortunately, what we experienced was nothing short of appalling.
Despite the beautiful photos online, the reality was shocking. The entire villa was dirty, including the pool, which was murky and clearly unmaintained. The worst part — during the night, we found a mouse crawling under the headboard of our bed. We captured the incident on video and were left traumatised and sleepless.
We immediately checked out the next day and were forced to book another place on short notice at a much higher cost to salvage our honeymoon. While the hotel refunded the initial booking amount via Booking.com, they completely ignored our request for additional compensation for the distress, health concerns, and financial loss caused.
This property may look attractive in photos, but it is misleading and extremely poorly maintained. I genuinely don’t understand how it holds a 4-star rating — the villa is old, unhygienic, and absolutely unfit for guests, let alone honeymooners.
I would strongly advise against booking this place. There are many far better, cleaner, and more professionally managed resorts in the area. Don’t let the pictures fool you — our experience here completely ruined what was supposed to be a special occasion.

Such a pretty place
The long walk to the room - they should mention this as both travellers had issues with walking.
6.0 / 10.0
Great central location, two entrances.
Needs a serious deep clean and power wash. Our pool at our pool villa was dirty and never got the sun. We didn’t use it and preferred the main pool. Bed was horrible and the netting was covered in stains. Room stank of mould and had ants. One rubbish bin in the whole room. Went for breakfast on the last morning, glad we had avoided it because there were ants crawling through the carrots.
